From the petition author:

"Starting on July 15, 2011, there have been a number of serial cat and kitten killings in the city of Maple Ridge in British Columbia. Since that date, 24 young cats and kittens have been brutally slaughtered throughout the town, with 9 of the most recent killings occuring in the past 2 weeks alone.

Reports of the killings have been sent to the RCMP but they have dismissed the cases as 'wild animal attacks.' These are not wild animals attacking these cats! Each cat has been mutilated in exactly the same fashion - with its head and limbs cut off and layed out on the owner's front lawn in some sick sort of kitten jigsaw puzzle. In some cases, the torso of the cat has also been cut in half. Body parts have also been found strewn throughout the neighbourhood.

The BC SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has sent out a warning to all cat owners in the area to keep all cats indoors. They say that this could not have been a wild animal because bones were cut cleanly by either a saw or a very sharp knife.

Who could do this to an innocent cat or kitten while hearing their fearful cries? What kind of sick and twisted individual or group could harm such a wonderful animal? The person(s) involved need to be found and put away in jail for the maximum sentence for animal cruelty! Torturing and killing innocent animals has been proven to lead up to torturing and killing humans! Will this be the next step for this twisted cat killer?

It has been nearly a year since these frightening killings have begun and they need to STOP! I urge you to sign this petition to force the RCMP to direct their attention to this issue and begin a serious hunt for the person or people committing these very disturbing acts. The BC SPCA needs to conduct more necropsies on the bodies of the cats to give the RCMP more leads on who could have done this.

I also urge you to keep your cats and kittens indoors if you live in the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows area and if you have any information regarding these serial cat slaughters, please come forward (can be anonymously) to the Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251 or email at or the Maple Ridge SPCA at 604-463-9511 or email at"

I thought better of the Canadians. This clown won't quit because he likes it. Soon, abusing animals will bore him, & he'll work his way up the food chain. Wonder how many victims it'll take before the RCMP decides they need to take action.

Noted and Signed Tks.Michelle.
Below is the link to an article of the SPCA, calling in an animal crime scene expert. I also hold owners responsible also as they are irresponsible to even let their cat out.. This has been going on for a year and people still are letting them out to roam.

So the police say it is wild animals doing the attacks. Obviously not true. The police in Maple Ridge do not care at all about animals. I presume they will when the person graduates to humans.
