The Pittsburgh Steelers have invited former dog fighter Michael Vick to visit their team facilities to potentially sign him as a potential backup at the quarterback position... WTF :-/

Remember Vick didnt just have a epiphany & all of a sudden feel guilt & shame for what he did to these poor dogs, he was caught & that's where those those feelings lie.. Remorse my ass. Would u trust him with your dog or your child? S/N

I have been fighting this cause for years, not just petitions.
I wish I could rise above and forgive him but I can't. Husband is a major football fan but we will not watch or go to any game that Michael Vick is in.
Noted and signed.
Thank you Susanne

And one more thing if I may if he hadn't been a NFL player do you really think he would have had such a light sentence? Any other man of color with no money for a defense would have been given a much harsher sentence.
It's not really a ? of forgiveness, it's the fact that he can just go back to his life, make millions. How many others get out of prison only to find out how difficult it is to get a job if they've done time?
I'm very grateful our team has said on many occasions they would never bring him to our city.

The only position Michael Vick deserves is cleaning dog poo out of the kennels and runs at the Atlanta Humane Society.

Yes, he can be forgiven - but not yet. Not until he is truly sorry about his involvement in the vile practice of dog fighting.

Noted and signed, thanks. This despicable man does not deserve to be paid millions by ANY team ever again.

Note:
I'we signed only petition from Susanne's post. I simply just can't sign petition from AniMae's comment, don't feel it right & I don't agree with statement from that petition: "But we all (or just about all of us) have skeletons." - Normal people don't have "skeletons" oh animal abusers!

Signed and will share widely. This is the second NFL team that will welcome Vick on board without a peep from anyone, except us of course. Forgiveness is next to Godliness but only when a person has accepted responsibility for their crimes and made reparations. If Vick is sorry, from the smug look on his face I can only assume he is only sorry for himself. I think paying him millions of dollars while brushing aside his heinous crimes is enough forgiveness for anyone.

Thank you Nancy, for saying what I could never quite put my finger on...about why I could never come around on MV. I had a short discussion with a friend when this whole business was first seeing the light of day. My friend mentioned that this is America, and he did his time. Didn't I believe in second chances? Now that I understand the details, and Vick's excuse that he was 'raised that way,' I am much better prepared to engage in that conversation - take two.

I don't give a s _ _ t how somebody's raised: when there is a bloodied, bitten, battered animal yelping in agony - and you're the reason why (!) - there is absolutely no way that you COULDN'T know it was wrong. When he was hooking them up to battery cables and throwing them in the pool, he knew all too well what he was doing.

Just look at those frickin drainage tubes in this poor pup's head! I can't even imagine what torment those babies suffered. Did they wonder what they did wrong? Did they think they deserved it?

Honestly, if so-called Roman games were still around, an appropriate sentence would entail throwing Vick to hungry lions.

"Whaaat? I was just raised that way." ;)

Thank you Susanne.

The day he provides thousands of dollars in REGULAR CONTRIBUTIONS to Best Friends (who took in so many of those poor dogs and gave them normal, loving lives again) I just MIGHT believe he's sincerely sorry.

Until then...I'll never watch a game he plays.

S & N & S! WHEN MICHAEL VICK HAS HALF HIS HEAD MISSING, LIKE THE ANIMALS HE ABUSED, THEN HE CAN PLAY FOOTBALL AND BE A REPRESENTATIVE OF WHAT CRUELTY LOOKS LIKE!
