Sounds much like what has happened to parents and grandparents over student loans where harassment by debt collectors was added to the mix. Thanks Nancy for warning us that someone wants to "pass the sins of the parent" on to the backs of the children.

I'm not surprised. My mother was audited several months after her death, and I was forced to pay what she had owed. This was back in 1991. Thanks for posting, Nancy.

It is just outrageous..And what is really a shame is that they depend out so many just giving up out of frustration instead of fighting it..

Thanks Nancy..

It is hard to fight the government I guess. Or hard for any of us little guys to take on the big guys.

I can see fi their was a recent death and the estate did owe taxes that it would come out of the estate. Never heard of children being helf liable for parents debts. YIkES. Just think what this would do to healthcare.

Hey, if they don't confiscate everyone's money, how will they increase corporate welfare at the demand of the Koch brothers?

The social security admin is so corrrupt.. ex-cons get SSDI as do mentally ill and just plain lazy yet truly disabled people cannot get it. I know people who are 'depressed' who have gotten SSDI for decades and people with terminal cancer who cannot. There are people who genuinely need SSDI and cannot get it because of the deadbeats who consume the resources
