Hi everyone

Thank you so much for your support, it is heartbreaking to know that such good work is not always rewarded, I have met Sara and she is totally lost, she deals with this everyday and I don't know how she carries on.

I only recently found this video, but it is from April when they still had hopes in buying the land, alas that is now not an option as they have already had their eviction notice and just cannot raise enough funds.

The 250,000 she mentions was in pledges, unfortunately because Sara has been able to raise the full amount, these pledges turned to dust ans Sara never got a penny from them.

Please watch, you will see Tilly Trotter, a poor horse which was left tied to Sara's gate at night nearly dead, I saw Tilly at the end of August, she now has a bright shiny coat and no ribs showing, she is beautiful.>

Sorry, I meant to say "unable" to raise the funds, sorry for any confusion, it should have been the following -

The 250,000 she mentions was in pledges, unfortunately because Sara has been UNABLE to raise the full amount, these pledges turned to dust ans Sara never got a penny from them.

A BIG thank you to all who are passing this on. x

This story is absolutely heartbreaking! I don't really understand the bit about celebraties not having the money to donate. They've got a lot more than I do, but few actually DO anything, other than maybe give a plug for a group. I like to see the big shots (political and celeb) get in and get their hands dirty (and not just for a photo shoot) and help out; to pull open that wallet and handover some cold cash. I realize the world can try to bleed them dry, but if they're willing to put in a word, they should be willing to do more.

Unfortunately Jan, the Celebs have let Sara down, Simone Cowell got in touch with Sara, he could have bought the land as an investment for Sara to pay rent on, without even breaking a sweat, yet all he did was promise a pledge - money which she never got - and some publicity saying what a great guy he is for supporting this cause.

None of them really want to help, Katie Price, Leona Lewis, it was just another headline to them, they are just playing the media game, but it is not a game to Sara or these horses, it is their lives.

Unfortunately, I have heard this morning that they have had to vacate the land, Sara is in the process of moving all of the animals - 96 in total, including 54 horses - but she fears that the move will kill many of the weaker/older ones.

It is terrible, but she has been left with no choice.

Than you everyone for your support.

thx Alison for bringing us these sad news. Little can we do to help and it is so frustrating to see how those who can just turn away. I remember the case I think, you posted this some months ago if I'm not mistaken. The moving now will certainly bring much more hardship for all, this is really tragic.

That's right Angelika, I have been following this story since I found out about it in April, I was going to visit again, but the Refuge has been closed to visitors for the past few weeks and now that the move is underway, I don't really want to get in the way.

Sara has told me over and over again that she doesn't care about herself, only the animals, but when her and her husband Alan opened the Refuge 15 years ago, they sold their home, so they are now homeless, could all of this get any worse??? She told me before that she doesn't care if they have to live in their car, as long as the animals are safe.

Their dedication and love for these animals is outstanding, I really don't know how they have stayed as strong as they have, I suppose they have had no choice.

Isnt it sad, how the famous people are like that, because I either saw on the TV or read a while ago that Simon Cowell was an animal lover and how he likes to help animals, so he went up a bit in my estimation, but it looks like he is just like the rest of them, all disappointing!
Thanks Alison, I wish that it would come right for them...

I wish to God i had the money to buy the land for Sarah, disgusting that so many celebs have not only let Sarah down but themselves as well on going back on their word. They should hang their heads in shame. Thank you Allison
