Lions aren't "pets" and I wonder what idiot in the zoo thought this was OK?

Sweet lioness is still a wild animal and high childrens voices and fast movement will attract them. Poor kid. Zoo security and grandma may be at fault here. Thanks Lone!

I read where there were bars MISSING from the cage which allowed the lioness to grab the poor little child.

I say the grandparents are at fault, they allowed her to 'go beyond the barrier' for a photo. The barrier is there for a reason. You cannot blame the animal for it's instinct. This did not have to happen. My prayers for the little girl.
