Well, thank goodness for Mr. Kouchner -- you wouldn't expect him to be from France, now would you? I dearly hope he's successful. Whatever Ms. Ashtiani did or did not do, I'm sure she doesn't deserve capital punishment -- by stoning or any other means.

Why in the world wouldn't you expect him to be from France, Cindy?

Bernard Koutchner is the founder of Doctors Without Borders and was a humanitarian worker in the field for years. He was also a leading member of the Socialist Party, and joined Sarkozy's government because he wanted so desperately to be a cabinet member. He was Minister of Health under Mitterand, too.

I'm curious to know what kind of prejudice you harbor against 'the French.' They come in all sizes, and persuasions, you know...

Thanks, "Diva" (sent a green * to ya)
I happen to be French. It doesnt mean I wholeheartedly agree with what my government is doing to its immigrants such as the Roms.
I had NOT voted for this president in 2007 anyway, because even then I did NOT agree with his conception of how France should be.
Nicolas Sarközy de Nagy-Bocsa (his full name) is the son of Pál István Ernő Sárközy de Nagy-Bócsa and Andrée Jeanne "Dadu" Mallah (etc etc.... if you want to read more about the "Frenchiness" of our President, read about his alien family background on this Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas_Sarkozy#Personal_life)

According to Sarkozy and some of his ministers' standards, he is NOT French.

Forget about the "Obama is Muslim" quarrels in the US of A: we have our share here, except its not exposed in the media because it's not "politically correct" !!!
