Interesting little anecdote: my kitchen sink was forever getting blocked due to the strange way the pipes had been fitted. Every few days I had to get the plunger out, pour toxic stuff down the drain regularly, hot name it, nothing worked for longer than a couple of days. Then I started cooking using olive oil only (no more corn oil, nut oil, rapeseed oil etc etc) and guess what? The sink hasn't got blocked once since. Bit bizarre,eh?
