Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi threatened to cut trade with Britain and warned of "enormous repercussions" if the Lockerbie bomber died in jail, Britain's Guardian newspaper said on Wednesday, citing U.S. diplomatic cables obtained by WikiLeaks.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But, I thought we already knew about Libya's stranglehold on Great Britain.

There was a tremendous outcry in the UK as no-one felt that the bomber should have been freed. Scotland insisted that the release had nothing to do with pressure and done solely on their laws, something that we were not convinced of.

Gee you'd think it was America the way this deal backfired.

Since when have politicians or diplomats ever actually SOLVED a problem? Wake up, will ya! As long as basket cases like Gaddafi can put pressure on nations by threatening economic sanctions, i.e. hitting them where it hurts the most, then there is absolutely no hope for people who still believe in the lies their 'leaders' tell them.
