Homeland Security Screws Up Again

Audit reports obtained by the Washington Post reveal that the plan to monitor and prevent the smuggling of radioactive materials - one of BushCo's & Homeland Security's most highly touted initiatives - is a massive boondoggle. Why are we not surprised?

The program to screen all incoming vehicles and cargo to prevent the illegal importation of potentially dangerous materials is way over budget, scaled back so far it no longer matches the plan that was approved and is, in general, a huge mess. Why isn't the government held to any standard of integrity and accountability? Our tax dollars at work, folks - right down another rat-hole.

The screw up with Homeland Security is that it exists in the first place--anything beyond that is just putting a period at the end of the sentence. It's Bush's program--need we say more?

I agree, Morgan...even the name is frightening...who ever used the word HOMELAND but the Germans? HITLER loved that word. HOMELAND is not an American term at all. It could have been NATIONAL Security, or AMERICAN Security or any one of a dozen more familiar terms...but BUSH chose a NAZI term...how appropriate. Shades of Grandpa Prescott!

Its screwed up ok if they would do some really good back ground checking they would be sssooo suprised how some of these people got to be in the places there in. Butthead and Beaves and his cronie know nothing all they do is walk around with nothing but pure brain farts in there heads, or if they even have a brain, It does not suprise me. Thanks Regina

LOL Joy. They ARE walking, talking brain farts.

Cate, when they first came out with the name for this clusterf***, I knew immediately what they were implying. Bush would have loved nothing better than to use the term FATHERLAND. That's what he really is thinking whenever the term 'Homeland' comes out of his facial orafice. But that would have been too obvious for the sheeple. Many have yet to connect the two terms as Nazi propaganda tools.

When is the american people going to hold bush and his inept administration responsible for catastrophic and expensive mistakes, errors in judgement and lies?

LOL Morgan & Regina.

It is a good thing "the Republicans don't believe in big government". ...sigh,

These patrols/departments ran more efficiently before their incorporation into twilight- zone of homeland security.

OK PEOPLE, SING IT WITH ME - CALL ME CATE!!!! RC deWinter is for the uninitiated.
A short analogy...(not that I am a legend like this woman)...Lauren Bacall's given name was Betty Perske. All her life, before and after fame, those who knew her best called her BETTY.

I wonder who's got ties with Raytheon ? Those who favor privatization over civil management, saying everything Goverment does, it does badly, ought to look at the reality of the situation. Taxes dollars paid for an imcompetent evacuation plan for New Orleans, our soldiers get issued gas masks along with a roll of duct tape - because they're not up to snuff, and the list goes on. Quite a few of these contractors are directly connected to politicians. Worst of all, accountability becomes murky. This is just another example of taxpayers getting a raw deal for the money, while the rich get richer. No, dear Cate, we are NOT surprised. Finally, I don't think Bush & Company care whatsoever if radioactive materials are dumped, or transported through, OUR neighborhoods.

To buy cheap security monitors, you have to set a budget first. It's easy to find stores that sell a CCTV Monitor online but if you want to find an affordable security camera monitor, you have to set budget limits. This way, you get to avoid spending a lot of money on security monitors.
