This is Canada. Harper does not like any scientists.

During my lifetime we have had excellent standards for food inspection, and regulations for all kinds of things that contribute to public safety. I wish Harper would trim some off the pensions of Senators, or do away with the Senate entirely instead of jeopardizing the health of the population.

Our Canadian republicans, known as Tories, hate anything which informs people about the effect the oil sands and pipelines is doing to the planet. He is a cretinous idiot interested only in money. Just wonder how he gets a majority. I think it is because we're not required to vote here as in Australia. He and his cronies are in the pockets of big business and all it is interested in is profit, whatever the cost. Unfortunately there are few places on earth these days with a decent government that actually gives a damn about the future.
