TODAY, JEFF WOOD will take his place beside my mentally ill brother, who is no. 26 on the home page of this prisoner genocide website: Today, Texas is poised to do the unthinkable: execute a mentally ill man . .

I live in Kerrville TX. I remember this murder. It was brutal, there was no mercy shown to the victim. Jeff Wood was bragging abouht his part in this murder abd laughing about it. It was disgusting.

Jeff Wood is a mentally ill man who was initially found incompetent to stand trial and sent to a mental hospital for two weeks, then declared "trial ready." Mentally ill people do not always act appropriately. That is the whole point, Ryvre. My neighbor's son bragged when he ate a worm! Children and people with learning disabilities like Jeff should not be executed for crimes.

Besides that, Texas has already executed the man who actually did this murder, and Jeff was not even in the building when the crime occurred. How fair is that, even if Jeff was not mentally incompetent? Texas must not have a 2 for 1 day in its Death Chamber!

CARE2 Members, Do you want to help Jeff?

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles voted Tuesday to deny clemency for Jeff Wood. Now, the only hope is that Governor Perry issues a 30 day stay of execution or that a judge issues a stay. Jeff Wood is scheduled for execution in Texas TODAY, August 21, despite the fact that he did not kill anyone.

Please pick up the phone and CALL GOVERNOR PERRY at 512-463-2000 and urge him to use his power to issue a 30 day stay of execution for Wood.

Calling on the phone is the most effective way to get your message to Perry today, but in addition to calling, you can send him a message by using the form on Perry's own website. Click here to contact Governor Perry.

Please forward this article to your friends and ask them to help us
Save Jeff Wood!

God will bless you for helping, even if we fail.

If there is a question as to his mental sanity, they should at least hold off the execution for further testing.

Thanks, Marion. 30 days is all they're asking. Plus, don't forget Jeff never murdered anyone and did not know a murder would occur. He did not even know that David had a gun with him, and Jeff wasn't in the building. Jeff was only 22 at the time, and his mental age was much less.

What a shame...of course, I do not support the death penalty for anyone. Life in prison without parole for capital crimes should be a national law. And in the case of the mentally ill, it should be life in a forensic setting with treatment.

THANK YOU CARE2! For giving us this mode of communication to tell the high officials of the world what we think! And thank GOD ALMIGHTY that sometimes they actually listen!

Jeff Wood has been granted a STAY OF EXECUTION! My thoughts?

JOY TO THE WORLD, THE LORD HAS COME! I feel like a six-year-old on Christmas morning! Now I can tell everybody and get some sleep.

Dear mary, I can't believe what I am reading! This is wonderful news! I am so happy that this he has been spared. I do understand what Ryver said about it being a brutal crime and how the victim was shown no mercy, but, if Jeff didn't even have a part in the actual murder then he shouldn't pay for it. I must admit, and I am probably going to hear it from some users for making this comment, but I do toil with the issue of the death penalty. I believe that in severe cases it is appropriate, but only IN SEVERE CASES! I think that serial killers and serial rapists like BTK and the Green River Killer and John Wayne Gacey(sp?) should have been put to death, I mean look at the damage that they did and the pain that they caused so many people. However, I am a christian as well and believe that God is the ultimate judge. No matter what we do on this Earth after we die, I believe, that God will be the judge, and we will have to answer to Him with our Karma. With that said, I am happy tonight to hear that Jeff is alive on Earth. Great job, once again my Sister in Spirit!

Amy, bless you! When one thinks with her spirit and not her head, she will always side against the Death Penalty, especially when the condemned person is a child or a mentally disabled person.

We should all give thanks for Amnesty International and all the marvelous organizations, advocates, and human rights activists who gave their time and attention to getting a stay of execution for Jeff. Now, let us all pray that it holds BEYOND the 30 days!

I agree with Amy this poor man sat outside in a car while the deed was done! As far as bragging about it,Well when someone is not quite right in the thinking department they may say and act like the big man But let them see what was done and they will be sick!My so took a plea deal that is why he is in prison !he took the deal not so much for himself but so others would not have to face court! You have to respect that! He wants to protect his family and that of the so called victim involved. He will serve his time and walk closer with God!

Children and people with learning and mental disabilities like Jeff should not be imprisoned! And since Texas has already executed the man who actually did this murder, why would anyone else still be getting ANY sentence, let alone a death sentence. Texas needs to get with it... there is NO DEATH SENTENCE in Australia, thank heavens.

Thou Shallt Not Kill!

This applies to all humans - Goverment or not.

As about mentally ill people - they are ill - they need care and treatment and if they pose a danger to society a secure instetution - fit for a human.

People who are interested in the plight of the mentally ill, particularly the 1.25 million who are imprisoned in America, please take a look at the care2 group AIMI - - Your support would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you everyone. Please be reminded that Judge Garcia in United States District Court of San Antonio is the one who chastised the Texas courts for being about to kill Jeff, and he granted Jeff the stay -- almost AT THE LAST MINUTE! Please send Judge Garcia a kind word. He is a judge in Texas, and I know he granted Jeff this stay of execution against much opposition. Judge Garcia may even have lost some powerful friends and supporters for all we know.

But Judge Garcia stood up for what was right! I have added him to my HEROES LIST! It was NOT the Texas Governor who spared Jeff.

Do you hear that Texas voters? Your elected officials REPRESENT you! I know you Texans are independent, patriotic, and strong people. I watch Westerns! But I believe you know and care about what is right and what is wrong. Please ask your representatives to REPRESENT YOU BETTER!

Please send Judge Garcia a shout-out supporting him for being HUMAN. If you can find his e-mail or the court clerk's e-mail, please share it. We must show appreciation for people when they uphold justice, and not just criticize those who do not.

Mary and other's, I very much appriciate everyone's sentiment. So much so that I began look to see if sitting judge's, in the case orlando garcia, would be allowed (or to what level) personal comment on a paticular desiion in a case.
As I was looking for the potential contact info I ran across many controversial articles regaurding the honoral judge garcia. I'm just now beginning to take a lok at the info, and I do think he made the right decision in Jeff Wood's case, but i think the verdict is still out on exactly where he might stand on this or other important issue's.
I'm so sorry b'cuzz I hate to be a party pooper and I'm so glad that mr. woods was granted a stay of execution but i just felt it was important to share what i've seen AT FIRST GLANCE, so please don't take offence. many blessing's to all of you and to judge garcia as well. Bry'
