OMG...I just feel sick to my stomach on this article..

Vermont's highest court...

The States Supreme Court on Thursday was to hear a case that began in July 2003 when Denis and Sarah Scheele, who were visiting relatives, let their mixed-breed dog wander into Lewis Dustin's yard and he fatally SHOT it!

Now the Scheeles are asking the court to carve out a new legal doctrine that a dog's owners can sue for emoontional distress and loss of companionship, just like parents can when they lose children. WELL GOOD FOR THEM...THESE BEST FRIENDS ARE OUR CHILDREN!!!!

Complete sad story at site, and I pray that they can get these laws changed for our best friends...they should have laws that protect them and their owners that love them just like children.

The fact that this dog's owners have fought this since 2003 is wonderful...I probably would of clocked that man and ran him over or dragged him behind my truck!

Prayers being sent the Scheele's way that this Judge in Vermont makes a new law and we can get some of these horrible things that happened to stop, or if not sue the person, put them in jail, etc.

Great article!!!

By The Way...the love of a Animal (Best friend) is Unconditional...that BOND between an owner and their animal can not be measured by any $$$$ it is sad...but still want laws to protect and defend our Best Friends!

If someone accidentally shot my Junior & Juliet ( my 2 furry children ), I would waste no chances in crippling the so-called humans myself.
