The killing of about seven elk cornered in a farm pasture in eastern Skagit County has spurred state officials to close the elk archery season in the area and angered others who either witnessed or heard about the killings.

It was a barbaric canned hunt of elks! They were shot with bow and arrows!

Not all hunters are "sportsmen". Too many are trophy hunters that just feed their ego by senseless
killing where they will leave all the animal but the head and because they are too thoughtless and lazy to at least contribute the meat.

It takes a real man to shoot a penned up animal. Or so they seem to think. I hope they are ostracized in their communities. Pathetic wimps.

I wish that hunters who take part in these "canned hunts" would find their cornered prey to be armed. If elk could use crossbows the whole proposition might be a little more "sporting"

Didn't cavemen die out or evolve? Apparently not. Why is bow hunting legal? That is an archaic method of killing. Why is "hunting" legal in countries in which one's life does not depend on it to prevent starvation? Let's put the hunters (sadistic murderers) in a corner and shoot arrows at them. They deserve it.

How absolutely sickening - is this the Americans at their best? Their cruelty seems to see no bounds. Do they know the meaning of compassion? They disgust me.

These imbeciles are not hunters, this was not a hunt, this was a bunch of rich 'Gonna Go Kill sumpton' to make me look like the man I am not, jackasses. I can not tell from the article but it is probably safe to say that these 'people' were not after the elk as food, no one who hunts for food uses a bow, unless they are ready to go hungry, bow hunters are trophy hunters.

Skagit County? Boy, that is sure gonna be on my list to visit. It does not say how many it took to kill the 7 elk, but owing to the rest of the story, I'll bet it was at least a hundred of those SKAG'S out there. And at that I am sure I am giving them more credit for inteligence than they really have, all of them put together! What disgusting idiots!!!

Note that this was the second attempt to allow an elk hunt ruined by fool hunters who didn't know to be sportsmen.
