Such magnificent creatures. It's incomprehensible how a "human" could be so barbaric.

Noted - many immigrants living in Florida have maintained their natural customs of butchering just about anything that moves to eat. This is AMERICA, there are laws protecting peoples animals!!! They should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, to show them this will NOT be tolerated.

Noted.Don't see where I can sign. While I agree that horses should not be killed for our consumption nor any other reason, why is it against the law,yet to kill a chicken and other farm animals not?.Not only are we biased against humans, but it spills over on animals.Let us protest and create a stiff fine and prison for that Cornish hen I ate last night.

I hope the new "tea bag" governor cares about animals.

Lidia E. Feliciano - I was going to send you a green star for your comment, until I read on to see that you ate the Cornish hen you are asking protection for! Sarcasm when animals are suffering and dying for your taste buds!

It's not so much signing as it is writing a letter to Judge Sarah Zabel in Room 209 of the Justice Building, 1351 NW 12th St., Miami, FL 33125.
asking for maximum penalties and fines be imposed when the case goes to court Dec 17th,

Gwen Hillman (11)
Thursday November 25, 2010, 8:57 pm
The laws are already in place so they must be used to their fullest and the harshest and strongest sentence must be handed down. It must be shown that brutality, cruelty and pure savagery like this will not be tolerated and anyone that commits horrific acts like this will be dealt with swiftly and extremely harshly. Judge, I am sure that if you want set precedent here and hand down an even stronger sentence, you WILL be applauded.

The violence on the planet must end. Unfortunately, slaughtering animals for food breeds violence everywhere because as people eat these murdered animals, they take into their body the energy of the slaughter (fear, pain, anger, etc.) from both the one committing the murder and the animal that was murdered. Plus, animal flesh is not healthy for humans to eat. NOTE: Scientific research has identified a clear link between animal cruelty and human violence.

Where is the petition? I couldn't see it in the page that loaded! And Waterfall -- you're 100% correct! Unfortunately I don't see people change fast enough... by the time there is some really significant change it may be a bit too late :-( I don't know... that's how I feel it, although I hate to be pessimistic.

Noted, t.u. Simone. I was unable to get to the petition site, but will try again later. If five years is all he gets it should be with no parole, and I hope it's a tougher five years than he ever dreamed possible. This insanity must end, and judges need to start taking this problem seriously.

Noted. Thank you, Simone. Judge Sarah Zabel will sentence him on December 17, 2010. There is currently no petition. However, if someone would be willing to develop a petition requesting that the judge impose the maximum sentence allowed by law, I'm confident that we would all gladly sign it.

I also see no petition to sign, and the "perps" have already been caught, laws in place.

Anne K., can we please stay on topic? Whether one is vegan or not, the discussion here is about imposing suitable penalties on those who ILLEGALLY stole horses from others, slaughtered them for their own consumption and/or for profit, ALL of which is illegal in the U.S. Eating a cornish game hen is not illegal, and certainly not the issue of this discussion.
