Panthers are back. Florida's still-imperiled big cat--one of the largest in the country--has bounced back from just 20 individuals to more than 160 during the last 30 years. But it's now in danger of suffering from its own (modest) success.

Gorgeous animals and I'm glad to read that Florida ranchers are taking a different approach than the ranchers out west. They are accepting some loss but also they are being compensated too. I'd really like to see less of the cattle which means more people need to eliminate beef from their diets. Cattle account for more trees being cut, the buffalo out west are being compromised on their lives and they were there first by the cattle, and other animals suffer because of cattle. I know many want to eat meat, but there are many many reason to stop or at least cut it back in the diet. Try only once a week, then when that is comfortable go to twice a month, then once a month, you will find that by doing it in stages it's easier and you'll find other nice ways to enjoy a meal without beef. Even cutting back helps.

There is promise as the Florida ranchers see a balance has to be reached. They are not going out shooting, and have to defend themselves later.

BTW...All States here in the USA need to follow this -- the Government gives away so much $$ to other countries, Hey, let's keep some here to help our creatures....That way, if these Ranchers get $$ back, they would be out shooting all of these animals (HOPEFULLY!!)
