Caught in a huge amount of nets, this humpback whale was completely trapped. But these people on their boat took matters into their own hands and freed it, saving its life.

I cannot recommend this video enough!! With all the horrible things that we know go in and the causes that we all support, this did my soul good to see and experience.A wonderful testament to how "working together" can have life giving consequences.I cheered and cried while watching this video. Hooray for those folks and the whale!!!

This video is wonderful,I've seen it before on care2,but each time I see it the tears flow.Thank you Simone for sharing it again.Tears of sorrow for the ones that we cannot save,Tears of pure joy for this majestic creature being saved right before our eyes. These people are heros they saved a precious life with a pen knife and a lot of courage. To see that whale trapped in that horrid net become free at last and thanking the people that freed him/her with a whale of a dance of joy is truely priceless.

God bless those people. That animal would not have made it on her own. That was sheer joy she was displaying. There is no doubt that she knew she was not going to make it with that net on her fins and was so happy to be free. Great job.

WOW....amazing video. Thanks to all these people for freeing this poor whale. If not for these good people, the whale would have died. And what a show they got after they freed the whale. That was the whales way of thanking the people that saved his life. Really amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw this several times over the past few months. We've got people who'll help other 'people' in distress, and we've got oafs who discard fish net and other plastic junk in the ocean. Hope we can get the latter eliminated...

An exhilarating video to see that these people were able to cut the fishing net to free this wondrous animal! And the whale's tribute to them was just awe inspiring! When I think of the magnificent life in the ocean that we are killing by the waste we leave and not discarding dangerous nets and not employing better fishing devices which would save a lot of our marine life, I think of this whale and how awful it would have been if she had died all tangled up in that net!

It makes you feel good inside when you help someone in need, and I'm sure that this is what these people had felt by helping this magnificent animal!

So glad these people were able to make a difference. This video took longer to buffer than it did actually playing, but I stuck with it to the end. Glad I got to see the end.
