Trainer Bitten By Tiger at Australia Zoo

A 30-year-old man has been bitten on the neck by a tiger at Australia Zoo. It is believed the trainer sustained serious injuries, and was said to be bleeding profusely from the neck.

Thanks for posting Simone. I also saw some coverage on the nightly news. I'm glad the trainer is OK and I hope the tiger will not suffer as a result of this incident. Tigers and other apex predators can do a lot of harm in a few seconds when they become overly stimulated during play. I wonder whether there is a link between that level of excitement and the tedium they may otherwise experience as a result of being used for display and entertainment. Domestic cats can be just as uninhibited when playing with people but they don't have the equipment to do serious injury.
