I enjoyed watching last night’s Vice Presidential debate, as much as I cringed during the first Presidential debate. Uncle Joe was magnificent. We could easily determine the winner from the Republican Ministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise. They called Biden rude, unhinged, and a cranky old man. Their whining, instead of crowing, is a dead giveaway. Here are some of my observations of the debate, but first, in case you missed it, here is the complete video.

I love Biden, but "Slick" is the best in the world at debates, he would have destroyed Romney!

Lyin' Ryan now has an additional nickname..."Little Boy Blew It" :-D

Before the debate Jon Stewart predicted (joking) that both veep candidates would "come out". So they did, both gave us clear look at who they are, and what they really stand for. I ALMOST felt sorry for Ryan, he was in deep over his head, memorizing a few names on a map does not an expert make. I'm sure Faux is whining they should be, Joe cleaned up on this "Junior League" rich boy, attempting to relate to American workers. I think you have to work at a real job, be born into the middle class before you know what are lives are about.

Oops! A few typos in there - but I think you get the drift.

Same ole tactics different presenter of those tactics. Lie your guts out, mis-inform, mis-direct (the Romney helping the folks in the car wreck) was one of those "pick it out of the air" mis-directions when Ryan COULDN'T answer the direct question. It's getting to be a very tired scenerio from the Right and thank goodness the majority in this country are sane, decent, fairminded people that can distinguish the BS from the flowers.

If Faux hated it, we KNOW it was great! Joe Biden did us proud.... and little Eddie Munster was just himself - a petulant boy who tried to fake some actual knowledge.

I thought Ryan might faint. He kept looking more and more pale and confused. Loved watching Biden. He is a master and he knows his facts! On a personal note - we just received our ballots in the mail. Very excited to spend some time reading over everything and casting my vote! Will hand deliver to the County Clerk's office.

Kit touched on it, and I think it's the common mistake where some people try to memorize and recite to feign knowledge and authority, and it convinces those who don't know any better, but the second they're faced with someone who actually knows their stuff, they don't stand a chance, and they'll get exposed quickly as a fraud.

With Ryan, however, it's even worse than that: it's not that he's ignorant and trying to fake knowledge but rather that he knows he's lying to people and trying to convince them that he's telling the truth.

The griping about Biden's demeanor is quite weak, too. It's the same BS where the right wingers call liberals "elite" as if they perceive a condescension from better-educated people.

I tend to believe that condescension can, at times, be appropriate. It's certainly appropriate for an intelligent, knowledgeable person to be condescending to someone trying to sell ignorance to others, as Ryan was trying to do every time he opened his mouth last night.

All Biden was doing was live fact-checking on Ryan's talking points, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that, unless it's from the perspective of those who have tried selling those talking points as truth for so long.

Biden was at his best, loved the laughs and smirks he couldn't hide while Ryan did his best to deliver more lies and misrepresentations to those who will be foolish enough to vote for he and Wrongmey. We were sorry to see those 90 minutes come to an end.

have read a number of posts, heard a news byte on the radio last evening, and watched the Faux Noise link above and all portrayed Joe Biden as rude, obnoxious, laughing inappropriately, condescending, interrupting etc etc. What I saw was a passionate man, a man that cares for his country, a man that cares for people, a man that tells it like it is, and a man that did not act inappropriately nor was he condescending. He was articulate and had specifics to back up his points. I think Joe had to restrain himself and his probable desire to kick the shit out of this young upstart, Lyin' Ryan! Lyin' Ryan on the other hand seemed to repeat all the lies and misinformation that he has been using for months and was, in my opinion (humble or otherwise), purposefully vague and dodgey, even to the point of not answering a question but rather changing the question! Thinking back to the first debate, Romney was a bully, rude, interrupting, and tried running the debate. Yet Republicans were quick to downplay this behaviour. In my mind, Joe Biden clearly won the debate on style, content, and passion!

And proof of Biden's even temperament can be seen in his light hearted response to Ryan's somewhat rude remark: "I think the Vice President knows that sometimes the words don't come out of your mouth the right way." Biden laughed and replied :"But I always say what I mean."

Just the fact that Lyin' Ryan said that the best personal trait he offers is honesty, is worth five pinocchios out of four!

Ryan — "…we should stand up for peace, democracy and individual rights. …" — so why does the US have a war on women, war on the poor; so why does Romney/Ryan have such a Manifest Destiny approach and want to increase the military budget by more than $2 trillion more than the military wants. So why are the Republicans pursuing voter suppression policies and election fraud?

Get out the vote!!!!!

Vote Democratic 2012!!!!! Vote Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!

Thanks Tom for your take on the VP debate. I couldn't watch the video as I over did myself last night during the real thing and I need to keep my blood pressure down. Biden won, Raddatz came in second and Ryan a distant third. Read, not viewed :~) and noted.

You cannot currently send a star to Lynn and Kit because you have done so within the last week. The spectrum of valuable response has been covered by other comments so well (including Dandelion's giggle on the fantasy horror show of yesteryear) that I'll leave it for now and I agree with John's rank order completely!

I watched the debate on Thursday and there were parts of it that were hard to stomach but that stands to reason since Ryan (along with Romney and the GOP) is hard to stomach. Biden was great and I thought Martha Raddatz did a very good job as moderator. As far as Ryan goes, well he's true to his form and it's not a good form, never has been, never will be. Thanks Tom.

Green star to John B, and also to Carlene - and can't to Lynn or Kit - they deserve the stars, but can't till next week. Like John I couldn't watch Ryan lyin' in video - my health won't stand the fury he generates with his stinking constant lies!

Hell hath no fury------Ryan limited access to cruicial women's health services, redefined rape to reduce access to abortion services....ridiculed women and called them names in order to get them to shut-up.
The 30% comment made by Ryan we have to believe then....that 30% of our Americans are so happy living in bug-infested hovels, ducking gunfire on the street, and do not want to have a nice car, or clothes or have a lovely vacation or eat in fine restaurants or have steak in their menu. (He says that because the rich need an abundant supply of the poor and has no intention to change their lot in life )

Dawg I love it wehen Uncle Joe let's his inner Pit Bull of its choke chain. I knew he would. I can depend on Uncle Joe, the middle class and poor can too.

Why is it that every single time i have the ocular misfortune to view Mr. Ayn Rand Ryan AKA Little Lord Fontleroy.....he always looks like the stereotypical RUBE....when he (yeah that's it) all I can see is a bobbing adam's apple, a shaft of wheat clenched between his, a pair of bib overalls with one side unhooked and a beaten up dirty old straw hat on his head?????? Dawg, sigh, I cannot stand that insect. ask me how I really feel about him....and Mr. Fascist.........careful though, you just may get the Marine Corps version!~!!!!!!! (which would, of course, be heavily redacted on here). :)
