I wanted very much to reschedule my PT yesterday to go see Bernie here in Portland. I did not do so, because rain was forecast, the waiting line was hours long, and I was unwilling to risk exposing either me or my electric wheelchair to a prolonged soaking. However, I have complete video of his speech here. I did, however, have my first substantive disagreement with Bernie about anything at all.

I totally understand the difference between what one wants and what one predicts, and you have a lot of evidence to support your prediction. BUT you are not removing comments which disagree with you, and you would never do that. Your integrity is not limited to telling the truth as you see it, but extends to allowing others the same right. I currently am not predicting that Bernie will get the nomination. But I have come around to an open mind on the matter. I feel that this is a time to suspend predicting and just discuss qualifications and platforms. But I know others disagree.

I, too, believe Hillary will not only win the Primary but the WH. That doesn't mean I love Bernie any less. I'm so proud to be part of the really classy Democratic party. No matter who wins in our party, it's a win-win. As for the Repugs - well, I'm having a whale of a good time watching them, embarrassing themselves and their wives and party with all the shenanighans.

Re the bird visit to Bernie, I'd love to see a cartoon with Humpty Trumply and Cruz arguing and a big vulture waiting...!

the bird wouldn't even make an appetizing mouthful for a DemoCAT

Mindful of the numbers and statistics, deep down HRC will win the WH. But, my heart says Bernie!
Love what he stands for!
Go, Bernie!!
Love the bird alighting on the podium, rounds of applause too!

What Dave said, LOL.!

I think that you made a wise decision of not going to see Bernie, just like I didn't finish the road trip to get a glimpse of Mr. Obama in Austin when he was here. Can watch it on TV, or the net, and less crowds/traffic.

Enjoy the rest of your day, Thanks, Tom.

Today's Caucuses will provide additional data for the trend analysis model with far greater predictive accuracy than polls, which also have begun showing nationally the country prefers Bernie.

Another factor is Nancy Pelosi, the one continuing party leader in Congress, having made statements that superdelegates should not support a candidate that did not win in their state. Given the predictions of possible change of control in Congress, that could affect committee assignments for superdelegates that ignore her recommendation.

I can't help imagining the scene if a sparrow dared distract admirers in a Trump rally. "Shoot it! It's a LOSER"
Remember his snide remarks about Bernie allowing protesters to have their say? He'll probably have fun about Bernie & birds, now .... Which will only show him up more ......

Love this moment - unique ... like Bernie! Thanks, TomCat

Bernie is showing at 73 and 78% in two of the caucuses (WA and AK) at this point

I think whichever one wins, that person should ask the other to be their running mate. It is the only way to insure ALL Democrats will actually get out & vote in November! That would also be Historical on several levels & we could all be more secure that OUR needs will be met if at all possible!

I had thought HRC would win, as well, but have read some things that cause pause, even that Bernie would be better placed to beat a possible Rumpy candidacy…who knows? According to N.N. Taleb, author of "The Black Swan," one of the things humans are the worst at doing, is predicting the future.

Sports predictions, political predictions, economic predictions, "end of the world" predictions: All a bunch of hot air, for which various people make a lot of money! Rump and Trus battling over their wives? who in hell would have had the wherewithal, or given that, the guts, to predict this bit of, shall we say, joyous irascibility?

The bird provided a wonderful window into who Bernie is, I believe, given the surely positive manner in which he responded! I can easily picture any of the remaining GOPigs responding in a surly manner.

Thank you!

"I think there may be some symbolism here," said Sanders"

Sparrow Medicine:

The sparrow is one of the most common birds around, yet it has flourished when other species have failed.
It reflects self-worth. If a Sparrow totem has entered your life, ask yourself if you know your own self-worth. The sparrow will show you that even a common little bird can triumph. The song sparrow reflects the chakra energy awakening from the heart and throat. It reminds us to sing out our own song of dignity and self-worth. During the Middle Ages, the Sparrow was the symbol of peasants and the lower classes.
In Ancient Britain, the Sparrow was the symbol of friendly household spirits. To the Greeks, it was the pet of Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love.

Its ability to multiply and assert itself in spite of predation reflects the idea that nobility of the common person is inherently strong. For those who have a sparrow as a totem, look about you. Are you allowing others to take your dignity? Have you forgotten your own self-worth? Have you begun to think that you would always be under the heel of some tyrant--human or social? The sparrow will show you how to survive. It will awaken within you a new sense of dignity and self-worth, helping you to triumph in spite of outer circumstances.

Go Sparrow Bernie, Go Go Go!

I, too, prefer Bernie as my first choice. His platform and history is what I like most about him. As a democrat, I will vote for the party. Our country cannot afford a GOP discriminator as president!!

I saw the Birdie Bern episode last night on Rachel Maddow Show. I thought it all "Awesome!". The audience and Bernie had a good, happy feeling and laugh during during this precious moment. Someone said that it was a yellow breasted finch. I did see yellow on the bird as it sat on the podium. Precious, too a precious moment.

"I know it doesn’t look like it, but that bird is actually a dove asking for world peace." A superior and an intelligent response! in the moment from Bernie.\.

These three states today include environmental issues as a high priority. Two give priority to fossil fuel policies, two to GMO policies. WA also cares about immigration reform with how many in agriculture had to let fruit rot on trees due to insufficient migrant farm workers in this era of fear. HI reports record turnouts--even higher than 2008.

Bernie did well in these elections, but still is behind HRC and the superdelegates will decide. I think this should end, as well as the electoral college, but that is just my opinion.

Yes, TC, a true democat would have eaten the bird!

Bernie won Alaska, Washington, Hawaii and says his campaign now has the momentum it needs. That is a lovely way to remember the Easter weekend of 2016. A little bird told me and Bernie that the sun is rising and it has a golden-rosy glow. Thanks TC. Everyone, keep sending Bernie & TC magical energies and protection.

Loved Birdie's (er, Bernie's) facial expression and his big smile. This is our man - and he won big yesterday. He can do this.

We did it here in WA State! Bernie is the winner. The lines were huge to get inside our schools and such to caucus for Bernie. I'm now an alternate delegate for him and look forward to Sunday, May 1st and the next step in the process. Go Bernie Goooooo. Stay well TC.

How symbolic, that little bird in search of food and water. It wasn't an early bird, TomCat, so I don't think you would have caught it for dinner.

I heard Bernie did good in two states, but not the states that really matter delegate wise. But as long as he continues he's waking more and more people up to what could be and especially to what should be. And the next president and Congress will have to deal with that one way or another and be prepared for the consequences.

Yesterday's results, once WA distributes the 67 delegates based on percent in each congressional district (there are 10 and up to 3 should be at a 4 to 1 ratio) he will have reduced the pledged (can't change/determined by voters) delegate difference by at least one-third

Bernie has WON EVERY PRECINCT in all three States! Alaska, Hawaii, and my State of Washington! [And you KNOW, I, and my Daughter, WENT to the Caucuses, tho we were in 2 different precinct locations! in Seattle.]

Here is something from Facebook:
Wagner

"The full impact of the gold finch's appearance at the Bernie Sanders rally cannot be overstated, or fully appreciated by those unfamiliar with this specie's behavior, and birds in general.

Birds are commonly absent from all such events! A large gathering of people, with the commotion that accompanies it, is the last place you would expect to see one of these birds in particular, as they tend to inhabit serene open spaces, and are one of the first to fly off at any disturbance.
What people witnessed at this event in Portland Oregon was nothing short of a miracle, and in that sense, it was a sign, the ultimate endorsement possible for the Sanders campaign.
(Remember the dove landing on Jesus at his baptism? There was not nearly the uproar then as at this occasion!)
Not only did he win in Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii, but in the highest possible venue as well!
With such a manifestation as this, how can anyone oppose it? Bernie and We The People are going to win this one!"

Ya don't hafta be a "Believer".....!!!
============
With regard to that "Sparrow Totem" posting above, which I LOVED and have passed on....
The same would apply to ANY SMALL BIRD, sparrows, finches, etc.

"The sparrow will show you that even a common little bird can triumph..... reflects the chakra energy awakening from the heart and throat...... reminds us to sing out our own song of dignity and self-worth...... the symbol of peasants and the lower classes."

This is among the things that I posted on Facebook:

"Animals KNOW - the little bird KNEW that Bernie wasn't going to hurt it, wasn't hostile to it - like St. Francis of Assisi, if the stories about him and animals are true! Like when Bernie allowed the Black young women to interrupt him in Westlake - Bernie here AGAIN was a TRUE GENTLEMAN - emphasis on the GENTLE - and you see how he TAKES GREAT CARE NOT TO STARTLE, SCARE OR SHOO AWAY THE BIRD. He lets the bird BE! Any other candidate would go Shoo! and RESENT the bird for interrupting that Egoist's speech - amirite? You KNOW I am!!!"

He. Will. WIN. I love ya, my Puddy-Puddy and you have every right to voice your opinions. But I do not think Her Majesty will be gliding her way to the Oval Office.....the only way she will is by outright theft and delegate manipulation. Voting machines and gerrymandering works both ways for both parties. I no longer trust the Democratic Party because, as DWS has now proven to me, it is all ONE party.

You know what's coming after elections....the Dem party will split and so will the GOP. Or...revolution. one way or the other, something is going to happen. I hope Bernie wins it all because anything else is too nightmarish to contemplate.
