As tempted as I am to focus on the ongoing Republican scandal that afflicts our nation on a daily basis, I think I’ll take time out to address an issue that should be of interest to all Americans, regardless of whether they are interested in politics or not. The Reich is right about taxes. I’m not referring to the Republican Reich. The Reich on the right, is virtually always wrong. I’m referring to the Reich on the left, who is virtually always right, Robert Reich.

Senator CLaire McCaskill may have her faults, but she just publicly pointed out how much the Trum "tax reform" bill (should be called "tax deform" if you ask me) looks like Kansas. And that may have been good for Dorothy and Toto, but it looks like the Wicked Witch of the West to the rest of us.

Trickle-down economics is an oxymoron: Nothing ever trickles down.

(Rats...Freya...I'm out of stars for you.) Remember when Reagan began mumbling about "trickle-down?" We here in California KNEW better....he'd wrecked so much of our State system by then. Didn't teach him anything, though. The GOP keeps hoping that repetition will eventually creep into the minds of the ignorant. Helping the wealthy will NEVERNEVERNEVER help anyone else!

By way of "So I Need a Name," here is the Trickle down concept in a sentence:
The “Trickle down” theory: the principle that the poor, who must subsist on table scraps dropped by the rich, can best be served by giving the rich bigger meals.” William Blum

Of course Reich is absolutely right; I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video of his that wasn’t spot-on. But the good people of Kansas or Louisiana seem to disagree and like all red states keep voting for Republicans who propagate these tax cuts for the rich on both state and federal level. I guess the rich Republican voters want to share their good fortunes with others, while the poor Republican voters want to share their misery. They won’t have to wait long; after this Republican congress pushes this “tax deform” (good one, Joanne) through, y’all will be sharing, in the misery most likely.

America is no longer moving towards the slippery slope – it has reached the end of that with last years election – but is now only yards away from the edge of the cliff. I could shrug and wish Americans all the best were it not that America’s economic free-fall will drag the rest of us down with it. So: RESIST! 👿

For some reason, I think of "trickle-down" as a VD film or SOMETHING! I never thought of it in an economic sense until Reagan got in office. And then I REALLY didn't like it! After what I heard about when he was trying to do, I was flabbergasted! What in the world makes them think we would believe suck a cock and bull line of crap like THAT? Give more money to the top and it will "trickle-down" to the less fortunate. Hmmm. NO! It ends up in their offshore accounts and is never seen again until someone MAKES them close those offshore accounts. Oops! We elected the wrong person for that!!!
Oh, jeez! When are we gonna learn to NOT listen to those dock and bull stories? The scheme never works!! It won't work in a million YEARS!
Ahhh, thanks, TomCat! That led off some steam! See ya at the game!

One more thing, TC. I can't get an email to you. You know how to get hold of me on the FF site. I'll take that off your hands.
Thanks, TC!

As through the ages, humanity lingers in the 'survival' mode. We've never made it out our dinosaur thinking, and as such, we condemn ourselves to the paradoxes of winners and losers and that process eventually accomplishes -> "it ALL comes down!" Once the 'whole' of us is embraced, we may begin a new thought process. Whenever the ego puts down the 'other' the inevitable failure for all takes the foundation of life down. We seemed destined to keep destroying each other, in a veiled attempt to win. No one wins in the eventuality. Only acts of unselfishness can save us. Looks like we haven't mastered the 'how to(s)" of making things work together for the good of life, meaning, everyone. Dinosaur brains will become extinct if we don't start thinking above the group mentality, and see that we are wonderful working together, and not trying to 'win' out over the other. Winners only mean that many have lost, and eventually, all will lose everything. I can't image Trumpelstiltskin being willing to ever lose an atom for the sake of anyone else, but, I could be wrong, - and I pray we all find ourselves opening our minds to the concept of a whole world of precious living beings, who may create a place in this solar system that is habitable, more fair-minded, and safe for us to make a good life, a decent living, a place of esteemed living rather than a competition 'against' one another. That is a primal instinct that destroys. Our higher thinking can conceive of a different way to live on, in appreciation and consideration, rather than obliteration. We must find this way instead of the way of the dinosaur. I believe we're ready for a dynamic change in how we do things,.... Trumpelstiltskin represents the dinosaur's hunger for power, and constant anger against those who oppose HIM. We are better than that kind of antiquated brain.
