The more I think about it, the more I agree with Elizabeth Warren that it’s time to open an impeachment investigation into Putin’s Pet Pervert and Obstructer-in-Chief, Resident Donald Trump. Civil Rights hero and Representative Elijah Cummings [D-MD] might not be quite there yet. However he is clearly leaning in that direction.

I absolutely agree with Senator Warren. I'm tired of people saying that impeachment is useless because the Senate won't convict. That's a specious argument. Yes, let's hear from everyone, that's part of the process of preparing to issue Articles of Impeachment. The investigation will take time. Will it embolden Trump and his party? No. Not at all. Doing nothing WILL embolden him.

What is needed is for Congress to do its job, the House, even if those Articles do NOT get to the Senate before the 2020 election. This will command the news cycle during the entire time ramping up to the 2020 election. This IS the Democratic platform for 2020, the horrible activities of Donald Trump and those surrounding him. The actions of the Senate, particularly those up for reelection in 2020. Of course there are many progressive ideas to run on but the most important objective is to keep this attack on our democracy front and center right through the election and the end of this Congress. Talk about those ideas, sure, but always against the backdrop of what was done in 2016, the Russian attacks and the Republican complicity, it is more than Trump, it's the entire leadership.

So, by all means, investigate, push, hold hearings. The American people need to know what happened and I can't think of a better way to control the narrative and draw distinctions between the parties than to have this investigation dominate the conversation between now and November 2020. I think that alone gives progressives the best chance of taking back the Senate and increasing the margin in the House. Not to mention, electing a Democratic President, whomever that may be.

I'm on board.. still keep going with the investigations, but do what's right for all of us.
Mueller's report is out, get the redacted info out, verify that the road is clear....and let's get the ball rolling.

Hey, give Obama his due. Bought Bitch Mitch didn't just object, he threatened action so vile as to be unimaginable, and Obama knew (and we know) he was capable of being that vile.

I don't think we are ready at this point to do anything which commits us to a "court" date (in the Senate). We are already investigating. I am happy that we are aggressively investigating impeachable offenses. I can wait for actual impeachment proceedings to be filed until after some of the actors in the investigation have testified in Congress. But that testimony should be taken soon.

I'm in....impeachment should be on the table.

It's way past time for impeachment proceedings to begin. The crook should never have been allowed to run for office let alone win. Can we impeach Pence and Barr while we're at it?

It is not enough to impeach tRump – we must make sure that his orange arse is kicked out of the Oval Office. Also, we must make sure that the Blue Wave of 2020 is even bigger than that of 2018.

Tom, I've been against impeachment so far, because he can be ''pardoned,'' to get away with all his SH$T. But, lately, I'm thinking that the time is right...let's tie him up for a year or so, with a prolonged and EXTREMELY PUBLIC impeachment and see if we can impress at least one or two of his supporters that they've been SHEEP! At least, we'll stand for the Constitution and the basic dignity of the Presidency.

Elijah Cummings is one of the people I respect most in American Politics so his views count with me. But it’s easy to agree with him, many of us have been thinking the same thing. It is time to stand on principle, it is time to standing up for the Constitution.

Drumpf has been calling ‘Witch Hunt’ for two years now, so the followers that still have a thinking brain may be getting a little tired of it. If it’s politically opportune, only time will tell. As long as none of the Democratic candidates makes the mistake of using impeachment to run on while it is ongoing. Witch hunt will then stick all to easily. Candidates should leave it mostly to Congress to fight that battle.

We should, but it won't pass in Senate, the same as Bill Clinton's. It would dash his re-election and even though Trump would still be the president we won't have to worry about having Pence as a president. Pence would be worse. He wants a theocracy.

Barr shows that same self-satisfied, smarmy, smug face that so many GOPIGGIES are wont to display, knowing in the center of their being, in that little deep shith*le of a spot of being, that they are getting away, so far, with virtual murder!  Asking for Barr to do the "proper" thing is like asking for snake venom to do "nicey, nicey!"
I am willing to move from insisting that we do not go for impeachment, for fear of giving full rein to the vengeance of the donald, (typo left in on purpose) and move ahead to, as it was said, "stand up for the Constitution."
Joanne: How about "The sh*t has hit the fan!"

I want to jump on board "the impeach tRump" wagon. We've had enough garbage thrown our direction by the idiot tRump. We shouldn't have to take any more. We need him and his cronies to be locked up for a long long time.
Thanks TomCat

There is a way to impeach the whole bunch and flush the principle turd and all the rest of them too. That is to expose all the wrong doings, illegalities, improprieties, infidelities. Keep Democrat vs Republican out of it. Investigation after investigation followed be revelation after revelation, prosecution and sentencing in the pattern set by Mueller so that it is quite plain who is working the public interest and who is not. All the while moving forward on health, education, climate which promotes and builds economy, health - standard of living.

Let the good rise to the top and in particular highlight the occasional good republican too (it makes the rest look all the worse and it takes partisanship out of the picture). When they can no longer hide behind vapid labels and partisanship, their motives will be laid bare and there will be no more wind in their sails. Good bye to the bad apples and hello to American prosperity. Embraced by benevolent Democrats Republicans will feel safe to leave the fold and become Americans again, together with Democrat leadership America will become great again, sorry Donald....

No matter which way this goes it's going to be ugly anyways. Might as well get it over with and impeach.
