Well, I just a few minutes ago that Indonesian government would make negotiation with EPA about Indonesian palm oil and tell EPA that Indonesian palm oil still deserve to be marketed. Well, although I should support my country, I don't think it's good for the rainforest. There are already some conflicts. I don't want to know or read same bad moments after Tripa and others.

This is another photo that really hurts me, if the pain, fear and sorrow that mum and baby are going through isn't enough, being able to see all the legs of the people in the background who all came for the 'show', knowing that none of them had an ounce of compassion to save them, just makes me so ashamed to be human.

Signed and noted, thanks Florence.

Read the labels and avoid palmoil!!! Educate people and petition politicians !The orangutang is going extinct!!
To help you navigate these confusing waters and avoid unwittingly voting for rainforest destruction with your dollars, here is a partial list of other names for palm oil-derived ingredients:*

PKO – Palm Kernel Oil
PKO fractionations: Palm Kernel Stearin (PKs); Palm Kernel Olein (PKOo)
PHPKO – Partially hydrogenated Palm Oil
FP(K)O – Fractionated Palm Oil
OPKO – Organic Palm Kernel Oil
Palmitate – Vitamin A or Asorbyl Palmitate (NOTE: Vitamin A Palmitate is a very common ingredient in breakfast cereals and we have confirmed 100% of the samples we’ve investigated to be derived from palm oil)
Sodium Laureth Sulphate (Can also be from coconut)
Sodium Lauryl Sulphates (can also be from ricinus oil)
Sodium dodecyl Sulphate (SDS or NaDS)
Elaeis Guineensis
Glyceryl Stearate
Stearic Acid
Chemicals which contain palm oil
Steareth -2
Steareth -20
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (coconut and/or palm)
Hydrated palm glycerides
Sodium isostearoyl lactylaye (derived from vegetable stearic acid)
Cetyl palmitate and octyl palmitate (names with palmitate at the end are usually derived from palm oil, but as in the case of Vitamin A Palmitate, very rarely a company will use a different vegetable oil)

Thx Florence, absolutely signed. Knowing how intensely EPA was lobbied by Indonesian palmoil industry my guess is the US will be just as big a market for that oil as are currently India, Europe and China. It's a matter of time and Indonesian president will lift the moratorium on forests again, too much money at stake for them, such a shame. All under the disguise of cutting CO2 emissions by converting palmoil to biofuels when we all know that this deforestation actually contradicts this effort.

This photo is from a story about a mother orangutan who stole some fruit from a villager to feed her baby. The villagers got so angry they tied up and drowned the mother orangutan and, if I remember correctly, stole the baby. These animals aren't able to feed their offspring anymore. And are murdered by humans when they do something as simple as take food for their babies. No matter what the story, it is beyond horrible how they are suffering and barely able to survive.

Noted and "signed".

Although there was no need for my comment because the petition letter text includes every point that I consider important, I have been informed that a petition "signature" with a comment carries more "weight", so I added the comment: "It is unacceptable that palm oil is used in so many products that are labelled as cruelty-free or vegan, which are aimed at the ethical consumer. There is no reason for manufacturers not to use other oils, such as sunflower oil, instead. Palm oil is often simply labelled as "vegetable oil" and palmo oil kernel is used to manufacture sodium laureth sulfate which is the active ingredient of almost all hair shampoos, shower gels and liquid soaps. The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is not effective in protecting forests, orangutans and native people because it is not enforced." (I always put more effort into a petition against a cruel and unsustainable industry than I do against individual cases of cruelty).

For every action there is a reaction. According to the law of karma, if we cause

pain and suffering to other living beings, we must endure pain and suffering in

return, both individually and collectively. We reap what we sow, in this life and

the next, for nature has her own justice. No one can escape the law of karma.
