Everyone Is a Suspect at Walmart

This is pretty painful. I actually feel sorry for the people that have to work under both the TSA and DHS, and for the people who work at Walmart.

Ohhhhhhhhh lawdy!

Now that Wal-Mart is a "trendsetter," I guess the rest will follow suit.

Thanks, Joseph, for posting. And thanks Pat for alerting me. I've also sent the story out to friends via my personal email.

I don't and will not shop in those stores. I have many reasons, and this just confirms I am right to avoid pumping up the Walmart bottom line. Of course every one has seen the emails of the Walmart customers, the goofy clothes and hair, ya just gotta admit those folks do look suspect. Just how is Walmart really involved with Homeland Insecurity? Why would a retailer be in any way a part of a Homeland Insecurity investigation or survey?

I cannot tell you how many times I have walked out a Walmart store and the bell went off. Were we live there's only one show in town. I can also say that I am no longer going through this after making myself clear. I may do biz there at the moment but I will not be treated like a crook when I'm dealing with the biggest crooks around!

I have had to point out, more then once, the Walmart register ringing up far more then the item on the shelf said it was. Dan decided to take a photo of an item that had the wrong price and when he did he was treatened with the police.

Since Walmart is going to work with Homeland security which has proven to have someone who goes after children and likes child porn working for this agaency and, is in a high position of authority we should hold Walmart accountable for collusion with a child exploiter. Should we not?

Walmart seems real proud of this - why? Our taxpayer money hard at work here - is Homeland Security taking over local law enforcement now? I haven't darkened a Walmart door in years, I'll never go back.

.Wow..woe and WTH !???

China's number one imported is now parterning up with HomeLandSecurity !? The gal doing the calling was right on with her thoughts about it. So now HLS is into arresting people for shoplifting or knocking things over in Wal Mart stores. More exposure of HLS to get people to accept the idea that they are now everywhere and it's you they are watching and not always terrorist or the really evil people in this country..

The employee trying to sell the caller that HLS has no interest in who buys bullets and guns from them......yeah right.

Thanks for posting this, Joseph. I loved the script for the caller! If, at this time of year, WalMart "greeters" said Happy Crystal Nacht, do you think most people would think it was about Christmas?

I once, in utter desperation, applied for a job at a WalMart. As part of my application I spent about an hour on what they called a personality test. Most of it was geared to find out if you would rat out your fellow less than minimum wage workers if you suspected or saw them stealing, oh, a 50 cent package of M&M's, or if you suspected they had smoked a "marijuana cigarette" either on the job or at home, no really, at home? I was told the best thing to do was on the scale of 0 to 10 was to answer 10 on pretty much everything....Comply! Comply! I couldn't do it. I answered honestly. I did not get the job, much to my relief , and was rewarded by the Universe by getting a job that paid more and I liked a lot better!

This action borderlines between anti-trush and treason, because the government is constitutionally forbidden to mank an alligenca or go into partnership with any foreign entity, and since Wal- mart is Americas biggest seller of Chinas slave made goods, that makes them in partnership with China!
Is Wal-mart Anexing the government, or the gov. annexing Wal- mart?! Babylon the great in the book of Revelation talks about the partnership between the church, state and business! The crusades have hit high geat, get ready to get rolled to a detainment center in Wal-marts parking lot says Alex jones! Sorted, a bar code placed on your forhead and shipped off to the proper dept, meat, produce, gladiator, slave, entertainment, security, one of them or part of the halfway plan, half burger half burgler, lol

Sorry... if I want groceries, I have no choice but to go to Wal-Mart unless I want to take a 75 mile round trip or go to the local 7-11. And, I have to say, most of the stereotypes don't really hold even though I'm living in Southern Mississippi. Guess i am lucky not to have encountered these problems since Hurricane Katrina took away so many of the amenities that used to be here & left behind Wal-mart.

Suspicious activity emm. like shopping at Walmart! According to Jeannette's post Walmart is "bombproof" anyway or at least hurricane proof! Seems the policy of shop thy neighbour is not just something that was mandatory in Nazi Germany, encouraged in the UK but now is becoming compulsory in the US. I always found it suspicious that George Orwell's real name was Blair is there some connection to recent history with George Bush and Tony Blair even though 1984 still haunts us with the notion of Walmart's "thought police"

Unfortunately, Scummart has put so many mom and pop stores, of all sorts, out of business in rural areas that consumers have little or no choice, outside of the 75 mi. round trip Jeannette spoke of. That's at least 10 dollars in gas, 2 hrs of travel time, plus adding emissions to the atmosphere. I've known the Wallies were dirt for years, and have always tried to avoid shopping there, sometimes though, you have to deal with the devil. Welcome to 21st century Amerika.

Wal- marks have wiped out their competition: US! The have a state blessed monopoly on small town America, and now they are sub stations for the feds! THE FEDS ARE COMING, THE FEDS ARE COMMING! H.L.S. has fount terrorists shopping at Wal-Mart: US, we the people! Last time this happened their was a revolution, and this they already know, and are attempting to end us, before we could even start! How long before Wal-Mart has jail cells or detention centers in place? How long before our money collapses and plastic money is all that there is, like the mark of the beast, and the military is there to stop people from buying selling or trading or stealing without the mark of the beast!
Why would the gov. have to protect Wal-mart? What to they have in store for us this time? More man made weather? More man made earthquakes? An alien invasion? Famon? Plagues? Bombs? Troops?
Is WAL-MARKS the new Government, the new money? In Wal- marks we trust?

I feel oppressed. My Grandparents left Germany because they were oppressed. Where can I go? It is the big money bags and corporations we should be checking out for their corruption and blaming us and watching the middle class like we have done something wrong is the end for me. Hitler all over. First the big money boys have stolen the money through the Federal Reserve, our investments and savings and get away with it and now watching us like we are evil. No you have it all wrong. Evil has come to America and big money has done it because their idol is gold. The American people are much better than this and they will object loud and clear. Is this turning into a right wing website? Thats what it sounds like. Anything the feds do is wrong? This Homeland security program is not about Wal Mart shoppers it is about seeing something suspicious anywhere and notifying the proper authorities. And the posting twists it like Faux News would. So if you see someone loading tons of fertilizer and cans of gas into a van....well its a free country!

Everyone SHOULD be aware of what is going on around them, whether they are in a store or walking down the street. These days it only makes sense to be aware because there are too many extremists out there wanting to cause harm to people. However, I fail to see what Homeland Security and WalMart have in common or why WalMart would be running Homeland Security spots. That mystifies me.

tightwads too cheap to hire security guards! So we are now being "deputyized'? Check out the website called Wallmart People- if you ever want to see suspicious and wacky folks (not myself of course :). Possibly they should all be arrested by the fashion police!!
Maybe I should rat out fat folks to the food cops for that carton of icecream in the cart? Or the guy buying cigarettes along with his kids toys--maybe he will harm their health at home lighting one up around them? Or the old lady buying a carving knife and roll of duct tape--could be a seial killer. Or anyone buying shoes or underwear--could be a terrrorist bomb maker! So many people to report, so little time!

Will they ever learn never to take security advice from the people that LOST the war?

The woman that answered was almost entirely reading from an FAQ and had no clue about the ramifications of the statements that she was reading from.

What they are talking about is nothing less than Stalinist Russia or Nazis Germany. There is NO REASON for any business like Walmart to get in bed with Homeland Insecurity. If someone steals from a store, then Homeland security has no business getting involved. That is the job of local law enforcement, not a federal denial of rights agency.

Not one single person that I have seen, at ANY Walmart, is qualified to do security work.

We would not have to fear our neighbors, or even strangers for that matter, if everyone was accepted and embraced by society, and everyone had a equal place in society!
Our laws were put in place for the soul purpose of creating outlaws, to steal their money and enslave them, yet society expects them to act civil, when they have been treated as expendable savages by legal religous bigotry!
The terorrist are supposed religious zelots, but so are the Babtist, J.W,s. ...for Jehovah is the gid of armies, a war god,and if his followers follow him, he must not have any respect of others, and the truth not in him!
Allah must also be a god of war: kill all of the Infidels!
How can we expect peace when war gods are aloud to rule! The American revolutioon was for freedom of religion, now we need freedom from religion!
The Waltons and the Clintons are religious zelots, whih front row seats, and with big wads of green in the colection plates, you get a big voice, and i believe that these confederate controled churcher are the ones who called them, for they could go shopping in peace, when the economy colaspes, and only those with Wal-mark's will be able to buy or sell!

This seems to be yet another example of what Globalisation portends.Try reading up on the "LAISSER FAIRE POLICY" it is the same thing
Here in Australia we have the same thing
Often called "Marketing" The idea being to get things as cheap as possible and to sell them as expensive as possible as long as the market will buy.

I would love to know what Wallmark actually paid for it's products in the first place.
Apparently it pays low wages too -another article claimed medicaid was its insurance and health policy for workers.

Here we also get fixed tills and sprices that do not accord with the advertised ones- That is business
as A Smith said "The interests of a merchant and the public seldom co-incide"

With the amount of hunger and unemployment around you can bet shoplifting is at an alltime high-And with the profits to be made in the way of cheap labor and imprisonment you can betthat there will be if there are not already draconian laws around as regards theft - A pity there are not such extreme laws for embezzlement and false representation and selling faulty goods including leadladen toys and poisonous plastic things for babies and unlabelled GM filled food.

Any way Halliburtons must be recommending lovely new building programs for prisons.

Mac R (289)

Wal Mart almost single handedly destroyed American towns by running all the mom and pop businesses under and hiring back the people whose jobs they stole at minimum wage with no benefits. And at the same time, they ran many small manufacturing jobs out of this country by buying everything from China instead of here.

Now they're "partnering" with HS to make us all that much more paranoid. What next, scanners and body gropes when you go through the checkout lines?

For all those nostalgic for Clinton, don't forget that the effects of Nafta & China's entry into the World Trade Org, both Clinton 'gifts' to the Corporate Elite, were not immediately felt -- it took a while for Chinese goods to inundate our market, for China to become the Walmart's & the world's factory, for the US - & European- jobs to be lost.

The writing has been on the wall for quite a while: "Is Walmart Good for America?": The Full FRONTLINE Report & dossier, with the whole show to watch, other video reports & interviews, & back-up articles, including:

- 'US Trade with China: Expectations vs Reality' ('Clinton was pushing Congress to permanently normalize trade relations with Beijing, helping to ease China's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO). Big business was furiously lobbying Capitol Hill in favor of the legislation.' Clinton addressed Congress: "If Congress makes the right decision, our companies will be able to sell and distribute products in China made by American workers on American soil, without being forced to relocate manufacturing to China. …We will be able to export products without exporting jobs."... 'Expanded trade with China has, in fact, been a blessing for large U.S. multinationals like Boeing, Caterpillar, & Cargill, which had trumpeted the prospect of a massive Chinese market for American products & services.' Yvonne Smith, the communications director at the Port of Long Beach, literally sees the imbalance in U.S.-China trade. She reports that through Long Beach alone, the U.S. is importing $36 billion in goods yearly from China and exporting just $3 billion. In her view, the mix of products is very unfavorable to the U.S. "We export cotton, we import clothing," Smith reports. "We export hides, we bring in shoes. We export scrap metal. We bring back machinery. We're exporting waste paper, we bring back cardboard boxes with products inside them.")

- 'Wal-mart & China: A Joint Venture' (From the beginning, Sam Walton and Wal-Mart focused on buying goods as cheaply as possible, which often meant buying imports. Here is an examination of the history of Wal-Mart's procurement practices in Asia and China)

- The Los Angeles Times 2004 Pulitzer-Prize-winning series of articles on the tactics that have made Wal-Mart the largest company in the world; the company's cascading effects across American towns and developing countries.

An excuse for employees of your favorite Wamart to harass anyone. I hope the lady calling in and asking questions had her number blocked otherwise there is a chance she will be harassed too.
I'm not sure but I think Walmart security has to actually see someone actually steal something and hide it on their person before they can hold them for theft otherwise they're violating someone's rights and could be sued for invasion of privacy. I would think asking for someones drivers license when they've paid for items with cash is also illegal and even law enforcement must have just cause.

There is a naive woman on the phone that isn't even "getting" what Wal-Mart is doing. Stealing is for their own private business to control, not for the Federal Government to be involved with. I suppose in time I'll have to walk through a scanner and be groped by a Wal-Mart employee before I enter or leave their store.

Homeland Security needs to be disbanded, it is a runaway machine that is already out of hand. People are not seeing the whole picture here, and they just go meekly along, all the while the noose is getting tighter.

For m,any reasons. first, they put all the mom and pop stores out of business, deliiverately. 2. they used slave labor. This typing so tiny gets much harder at night. 2rd and personal, I will not shop in a strore thart treats each customer as a potrential thief, when I read of their 'checkers" who check each item and recieipt, well.thart did it. I have never set foot in a walmart, and I shop just fine. Their prices are low because their quality is low, and becasue they use child labor.ansd now Police state tactics! Robert, yes i'm surprised, what next at china mart a church, jail, court room, lie detectors, urine testing stations, full body scanners?
I f they are so conserned with shop lifters they should go with the plan that my husband tryed to sell them years ago, and that is to have a loby with computers stations, where you shop, pay with plastic, then have a drive through to pick it up and pay with cash! If anything gets stolen then, an employee did it, and then it is the managers job to do something!
High tech shopping, you could even order from home or your cell phone, than simply pick it up, or have it shipped or delivered! That way they could send the feds packing!

Wow...this is so not surprising, as most of the poor people shop there and there are so many prices there that are competitive against other retail stores. This just makes me sick. The more that I see and hear things like this; the more that I wish that I could leave this country and go elsewhere in this world. However, it's probably just as bad there as here or worse.
