There is nothing more unempowering to women, or just people in general, than the attitude that a big government needs to nanny our decisions and pay for all of our wants and needs.

From the article:

As we're reminded throughout the video, these ladies' authority seems to rest on the fact that they are actual women. Well, so I am, so let's get real: There is nothing more unempowering to women, or just people in general, than the attitude that a big government needs to nanny our decisions and pay for all of our wants and needs. Notice how this ad tries to make it seem like Romney & company are the ones who would get the government more involved in our lives, when actually, the exact opposite is true. Republicans don't want to do anything scary like "ban contraception" or "take away equal pay for equal work." I don't care what you do, ladies -- just take responsibility for your own choices and pay for them yourself. There are now more women than men in higher education; women outpace men in terms of income until they choose to put their careers on hold to have children (and are now even catching up on that!); and women have never had more freedom to live their own lives and make their own decisions. Nobody is trying to deprive women of those gains or equal footing, and attitudes like the above only undermine that freedom.

Like the avatar Paula! Now I don't think this is a huge priority for women but what would I know? Obama likes to call twenty eight year olds kids for cripes sakes. Not in my book!

We should be doing a lot better than we are in America right now. I am a woman and there is no way I am going to vote for Obama.

"Perceived" war on women?
Do you not have ears to hear? Do you not pay attention to the things that the likes of Issa, Boehner, Ryan, and their ilk say??
Let's get rid of the Dep't of Education, who wants educated Americans, they might think for themselves, let's get rid of the EPA, it might cost us big business types some money to keep mercury and the like out of the atmosphere,. Let's get rid of Planned Parenthood, they are not run by fanatical Evangelicals, after all!
Ddid you see that shirt on the clown in the article about shutting down a NYC clinic?
"Jesus is the standard," it said. Do you want a theocracy here? They'll be God Awful happy to tell you how to live!!

Yup, NO EQUAL PAY FOR WOMEN - that's the Romney/Ryan agenda.
Yup, DO AWAY WITH PLANNED PARENTHOOD - that's it too.
NO CONTRACEPTION -- Romney/Ryan agenda.
NO ABORTION UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER -- Romney/Ryan.
JAIL WOMEN WHO SEEK ABORTIONS, EVEN IF THEY WERE RAPED -- again, R/R.
NO PROSECUTIONS FOR RAPE, WOMEN REALLY ENJOY IT -- Romney/Ryan again.
NO FERTILITY TREATMENTS, NO IN VITRO FERTILIZATION -- Romney/Ryan.
NO EQUAL RIGHTS FOR LESBIANS, TRANSSEXUAL MEN AND WOMEN, GAY MEN FOR THAT MATTER -- Romney/Ryan.
BIBLICAL STRICTURES ENFORCED ON WOMEN OF ALL RELIGIONS, OR NO RELIGION -- Romney/Ryan
WOMEN NOT ALLOWED TO EVEN SAY "VAGINA" IN PUBLIC?
EXCLUDED FROM MALE CLUBS WHERE DECISIONS ARE MADE?
NO EQUAL PARTICIPATION BY WOMEN IN SCHOOL SPORTS? AT ANY LEVEL?
WOMEN DISCOURAGED FROM JOBS, UNLESS THEY'RE SINGLE MOTHERS ON WELFARE?
WOMEN GETTING LESS PAY FOR EQUAL WORK? A GLASS CEILING?
WOMEN TREATED LIKE CRAP IN THE ARMED FORCES?
INSURANCE HIGHER JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE A WOMAN? BEING A WOMAN A "PRIOR CONDITION"?
ELDERLY WOMEN DENIED SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE? THROWN OUT ON THE STREETS TO BEG?
ABUSIVE HUSBANDS AND FATHERS HAVING MORE RIGHTS THAN MOTHERS, JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE MEN? RAPISTS HAVING RIGHTS OVER THE CHILDREN THEY FORCE ON WOMEN?

Welcome to the AMERICAN TALIBAN! The ROMNEY/RYAN TICKET!
ALL THIS AND MORE. A woman would have to be very much in DENIAL of what she KNOWS, to vote for those Misogynists who rigidly follow the most PATRIARCHAL, WOMAN-HATING STRICTURES of the Mormon and the Catholic Churches, respectively.
They and the TALIBAN, basically agree on the essential views of women...

BMutiny, you seem not so much opposed to the political positions of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan as you are to those of some imaginary strawmen monsters that you have arbitrarily named "Mitt Romney" and "Paul Ryan." Could you show me, for instance, evidence that the real Mitt Romney wants to give abusive husbands and fathers more rights than mothers? Or that he intends to halt all prosecutions of rape?
