It turns out that many of those behind Big Bird are actually members of the 1 percent (anyone with a total income of $343,927 or more as of 2009), based on their salaries.

From the article:

President Obama, who has railed against the “fat-cat bankers on Wall Street” and the wealthy, has been an eager defender of Big Bird and public broadcasting this week in light of Mitt Romney’s comments that he would defund it in last week’s debate. But it turns out that many of those behind Big Bird are actually members of the 1 percent themselves (anyone with a total income of $343,927 or more as of 2009), based on their salaries:

Maybe the truth if told that income might be one of the 10% but it takes several hundred mil. to be in that 1%...
This type of insanitea/article is just another example of the thousand out there as to why the Republican party, but especially their spin group the Teabagger Klan are the least liked goup in America. The filthy Repukelicans and their grovelling, slimy Teabagger apologists, want to PRIVATIZE Public Broadcasting, Sesame Street, Big Bird, and ALL CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING, so that filthy wealthy CORPORATIONS can USE ALL CHILDREN AS CAPTIVE AUDIENCES FOR THEIR PRODUCTS.
That means, CONSUMERS for their ADULTERATED FOOD, DRINKS, AND OVERPRICED SWEAT-SHOP-PRODUCED TOYS AND CLOTHES.
Kids won't have any CHOICE but to BE a Captive Audience, or not watch TV at all.!
And, of course, the filthy wealthy Corporations will dictate the CONTENT of the programs, as well.
Nothing about Evolution, or Gay parents, or Global warming, or healthy food, any more, for kids! Just LIES.
No more Dinosaurs - the Christians don't approve!
BELIEVE IT - IT IS THE ONE THING RMONEY SAID THAT YOU CAN BELIEVE - THAT FILTHY, FILTHY LIAR RMONEY - RMONEY IS GOING TO PRIVATIZE PUBLIC TELEVISION AND CORPORATIZE EVERYTHING IN SIGHT.
Public Television is supported by some Foundations {and those Foundations supported by wealthy people} that are doing GOOD THINGS with their money.
NOT sequestering it in the Cayman Islands and Switzerland, like that PIECE OF ABSOLUTE SICKENING FILTH, ROMNEY IS DOING, KEEPING IT AWAY FROM THE COUNTRY WHERE HE EARNED THAT MONEY BY EXPLOITING AND ROBBING HIS WORKERS BLIND! We the People of the United States NEED that money in the form of HONEST TAXES to REBUILD OUR INFRASTRUCTURE, roads, bridges, etc., that would GO INTO FURTHER DIS-REPAIR under Rmoney if he had his way!

Mitt Romney is SUCH A SICKENING, SLIMY, DISGUSTING PIECE OF FILTH - that if I were to say what I REALLY thought of him, it wouldn't even be publishable on Care2! And Ryan is the SAME...
And the Teabaggers all swallow these guys' filthy verbal poop...
