The makers of neonicotinoids, the bee-killing insecticide that was banned all over Europe, won't be able to refute this latest -

"A recently released study published in the Journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences described that neonicotinoid pesticides kill honeybees by damaging their immune system, making them unable to fight diseases and bacteria." Why oh WHY can we not stop this chem nightmare now. All involved governing bodies (even local) should be demanding w/o compromise to halt this beast...

Noted. Thanks, Rose. Fortunately, we are looking into banning neonicotinoid pesticides here in my county in AZ. We can make this a local issue. As communities ban them, it spreads to a statewide ban. The more states that ban them make it more possible to ban them on a nationwide level. Yes, all politics are local.

I live in Ontario, and there are no bees or Monarch butterflies left, thanks to our Harper government.

What a shame. Hope their lousy crops die too. We need the bees. No bees? No food!

Noted. This is truly dreadful news and surely enough evidence on its own to stop and ban the use of neonicotinoids.

Unless Monsanto is reigned in this is only the beginning. What do they care about dead bees? They have their whacked out seeds which in the end will cause more catastrophe than is happening now. Like the banks they have too much money and power and no sense of ethics.

I believe corrupt governments are responsible. I believe somebody is taking money from the chemical companies.

Either we kill each other in wars or we end up destroying the world around us. The human race and earth as we know is doomed if we don't stop all this destruction now. We all must do what we can to stop this type of destruction. Become informed; take a stand; boycott; letters - whatever is within your ability - but do NOT turn your back. Thank you

Noted and read thoroughly, with thanks Rose. I cannot not understand the Canadian Government for allowing these pesticides into the country to be used on our crops.Recently Bayer added another pesticide, the new F word - flupyradifurone to be used like the neocotinoids, and it damages the nerve system. Without the bees to pollinate, we are going to be loosing a lot of food products. I counted 92 on the list!!!! We have to put up a real fight to bee-safe!!

well, for everyone that didn't get out and vote against labeling GMO- thanks for nothing!!!
We get what we sow. I guess GMO is touted as "the way to feed the world" ...what they are "feeding" us is total BS and I don't mean bee semen!
Don't these companies (sorry, they are not "people") realize that if you kill off the bees, contaminate the earth there will be nothing left for ANY of us to eat? Unless we end up with Solvent Green. hmmm that could be the answer after all!

Good Evening and thank you for this article - which I read and noted- I was so disappointed in Canada- don't they realize if you kill the bees - we will have no pollinated fruits and veggies to eat - and in time we will die also --- such a shame THE GREED OF ONE CORPORATION CAN KILL A WHOLE PORTION OF THE HUMAN RACE ---WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO WAKE UP- RISE UP- AND FIGHT THESE CORRUPT BILLIONAIRES AND THEIR COMPANIES- HERE IN THE USA AND AROUND THE WORLD---- Sincerely Kay M.

Looked and read this article .Incredible these poor intelligent, useful creatures that feed our world, are being decimated and although we protest no one is listening. GMO crops will feed the world,i do not think so. If crops cannot be pollinated how does it work?We keep interfering with nature but nature must take it's own course.I am so sorry for the people that have lost their beehives & livelihood bees become your friends.I hate sitting in my garden with NO more Bees buzzing around or very few. These little intelligent creatures work so hard to give us honey and pollinate our crops we must fight for them. Another point is what effect are these chemicals having on other insects ,birds ,and all other creatures that live on them. We only have to look at reports from Argentina to see what effects they are having on the human population.Damn Monsanto .Damn Bayer .Damn the whole lot of these massive corporations.Damn also all the governments that put MONEY before our world's health.

How sad and at the same time infuriating! This is why I call the killer company monSATAN! Have always liked bees and loved seeing them fly around, now hardly ever see them nor monarch butterflies! What is it going to take to stop this carnage!
