In addition to squandering scarce resources and providing misleading results, vivisection poses real risks to humans. The mindset that scientific knowledge justifies (and may require) harming innocent individuals endangers all who are vulnerable.

So many innocents have suffered and monies have been wasted on pointless experiments to no end. People who do this don't deserve to exist. Noted, thanks Laura.

All tests on animals are pointless if the product is made for humans.

It boils down to: IF we had leaders that wants the best for people then they would make sure that food companies had proper food, not junk, not chemicals & additives, MSG & GMO, then we would not need all the drugs that they test on animals in the first place because people would not be sick eating good food. It comes down to when we have a healthy diet we have a healthy body & these drugs is a means to an end to justify the cruelty to these innocent animals. So many things being done today is for greed of the few, if logic & common sense is used much of this insanity that keeps jobs alive that serves no one would be phased out!

Again an informative look at the problem, not just for these poor tortured animals, but how it impacts us as humans in regards to our health..kudos!

A thought... In Genesis, the first book of the Bible, when God gave Adam dominion over the birds of the air, the animals, the fish, etc., do you think he meant total control as to destroy at will as well? No he did not, in Aramaic this word "domain" actually means "the responsibility for the care of all of his Creation" (GOD).

I hate these articles. . .there are too many of them. . .it is obviously the animals that suffer excruciatingly for what reason? ? ?
Something else needs to be discovered for these experiments. . .saying this doesn't make it happen any sooner. . .

Noted. . .

Laura I think the explicit photos are too much we are all aware of the cruelty that animals suffer I and many others object to these sensationalism photos HORRIFIC and unnecessary words are enough many of us can not sleep after seeing this pain inflicted on animals words are sometimes more affective as often needed signatures are missed

Repetitive animal experimentation should be obsolete once good virtual animal models are programmed into virtual reality computer models. Experiments covering new ground should be discontinued once the VR animal models have been updated to supplant the animal experiments. One name: Josef Mengele.

Without generating any controversy, I was wondering if anyone distinguishes between animal testing for the cosmetics industry and animal testing for medical purposes? No judgments, just wondering. Given the sheer toxicity of almost all cosmetics, irrespective of how they are tested, the safest bet is to avoid cosmetics altogether. As for animal testing for understanding and treating disease processes, were computer models not available, what would the choices be? Would it be better for humanity to endure heavy losses due to disease pandemic than to test on animals? Suppose the disease specifically targeted children? I object to animal testing; I merely want to suggest that every position may, in fact, ultimately have limits.

Expanding our knowledge and the boundaries of science should not mean losing our humanity or cruelty to those who share our planet.

Noted with thanks Laura!! I think if there's any nasty testing to be done, it should be done on brutal criminals and animal abusers!
