Last year, internet providers spent over $100 million lobbying Congress. This year, they won a fight that lets them decide -- without any oversight -- who gets to use the internet, and when.

Before I started Represent.Us, I ran an organization called FreePress. Protecting Net Neutrality was our biggest fight over the last decade. But frankly, we were outspent and outgunned by special interests. At every turn, we ran into members of Congress who had stopped representing the people and answered only to the lobbyists with the deepest pockets.

During that fight, I saw firsthand how massive industries weild their power and influence. They pervert the free market by changing the rules of the game in their favor. I learned that until we confront their ablity to corrupt our government, we'll lose every time.

That means the likes of Comcast and Time Warner Cable now have the power to shut out new competition, crank down network speeds on anyone any time and ultimately squeeze a few more pennies out of us whenever we go online.

This is the latest offense from a government that no longer represents us, the people. The good news is, there's actually a very simple fix for the problem, so I made this quick video to explain it:

Learn about Net Neutrality

If you're sick of our broken system, here are three simple things you (yes, you!) can do right now:

Help us spread the word about how lobbyists are killing the internet. Watch the video and pass this message along to friends and family.
Support the American Anti-Corruption Act to help put an end to the corrupt political culture that lets lobbyists kill the internet. You can also visit for more ways to support the anti-corruption movement.
Click here to help FreePress tell the FCC to use its authority to establish a solid legal footing to protect the internet.

Thanks for standing with me.

Noted, my friend. As Elizabeth Warren says, "The system is stacked against us". That is just so true. If we ever want Congress to put our interests first, the first thing we need to do is kick all the lobbyists out of DC. I wonder if it would work to get it put on the ballot in every state and let us vote on it?
