"Stanley Nadoraski Jr., 40, who lives off Central Avenue in Colonie, was taken into custody after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided his home Wednesday.

A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court states the investigation of Nadoraski began in May 2008 when ICE agents connected his credit card and computer information to a larger case involving a child pornography Web site.

Last month, ICE agents subpoenaed Nadoraski's credit card information and allegedly found it had been used to make a series of purchases from suspected child pornography sites between November 2008 and January 2009.

Nadoraski is widely known for surviving a harrowing 1999 shooting on North Swan Street in which he was critically wounded. He later returned to the force as a detective, but then retired on disability due to his injuries."

I know how harrowing it must be to be shot..however that in no way could ever..justify what this man did..and for him or his lawyer to use that in any way as an excuse for his sick behavior is just horrible..

What is going on with the Police around the Tri-city area? I have family that serve in that area yet I am dumbfounded at what I have been reading in the last 6 months.

Schenectady is undergoing some big changes in their Police Dept..They have had quite a few questionable officers busted there of late..
Not sure where the problems know how they pass the buck in these cases..but glad to report they are doing their best to make major changes..

Hope so..there are many great officers who serve and do the right thing..Like anything..there is always the good and the bad..Just hope the sort it out and clean it up soon..

Well said and thank you for the update. You're absolutely correct, there are so many that serve with honor. I learned in retail that bad news travels ten times faster. As for this guy, I hope his "activities" were thus far restricted to the Internet. Perhaps an inevitable catastrophe has been avoided?
