"Madison Dallas, 9, is the latest young entrepreneur to raise money for the cause by making beaded bracelets and selling them for $1 or $2 at her parents' two Sloppy Kisses dog bakery and pet boutique stores, located on Broadway and in Clifton Park. So far the Wilton girl has raised $80 and hopes to raise $150 by the end of summer. There have been other similar fundraisers, from penny harvests at schools in the Ballston Spa school district, which raised $2,250; to three annual Busy Bone walks in Ballston Spa that raised money for the shelter.

Shelter supervisor Dan Butler said he's even had children forgo birthday presents at their parties in favor of donations to the shelter fund. Bequests have also come in, one for $100,000.

"I've had donations from $15 to $100,000 and it all adds up," Butler said.

The money will be used to buy equipment that will allow the shelter to spay and neuter dogs and cats before they are adopted. Butler said donations will also help pay for features that were removed for budgetary reasons from the original plan of the new shelter, such as a section of kennels."

It is a shame not to post these good news stories..with all the horrible cases out there about really is sad and breaks your heart..And so it is heartwarming to see that there are indeed many who do so much good for animals..
I have always been very proud of my own community..and there are great kids and adults here that do a lot..And it is important to look to your own community and help in any way you can..
I think if we all did is a great step and wonderful cause to help..
