TAMPA, Florida (CNN) -- For Rick Kelly, the first sign of cancer was a feeling of discomfort in his chest. "My wife would hug me, and it became almost unbearable," he said.

""I went to a doctor, and they sent me to the oncologist, and they did biopsies on both sides. And then I ended up with a double mastectomy."

Kelly is one of 20 retired U.S. Marines or sons of Marines who once lived at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and who are now suffering from breast cancer, a disease that strikes about one man for every 100 women who get it. Each of the seven men CNN interviewed for this report has had part of his chest removed as part of his treatment, along with chemotherapy, radiation or both."

This is outrageous. Our veterans and their children deserve better treatment. They put their lives on the line when they enlist and now are lucky to even get a thank you.
Thanks Dee

This type of thing has been going on since the beginning of this nation and one of the most disgustingly sick things is the huge majority of those people driving around with "Support the Troops" magnets on their cars won't bother to do anything about this type of thing.

Remember when they found mold at Walter Reed army hospital? And they found that they didn't bother following up on patients and lots of other problems?

How many people do you know even bothered to make one simple phone call or write one simple letter demanding things change?

Not many people did.

The General in charge of that hospital actually admitted ON TV that he jogged around the hospital every single day. He didn't check on what was going on, but he sure had time to jog around it every single day.

He was just like the politicians and war profiteers. He didn't care at all.

Between subjecting our troops to DU (Depleted Uranium) and defoliants and untested Inoculation vaccines and not giving them proper care for both physical and emotional damage it's surprising anyone that sings up ever makes it through and can have anywhere near a normal life once they get out.

The sad fact is the people that send troops to war don't care one bit about them.

Neither do the companies that make tons of cash from war.

We need a law that says every President and every single Congress member that supports us going to war MUST send their own children in first........no preferential treatment.

Then, after that President and those Congress members finish their term of office EACH one of them must go serve active duty with zero ways to avoid it.

You see that happen and guess what?

We won't be doing any wars unless absolutely necessary and those that are sent will not be treated like a tool that when broken is just to be thrown away as disposable.

Things aren't going to change until the citizens of this country turn off the dam tv, quit spending time playing video games and competing with their neighbors to see who can have the "perfect" lawn and the most toys and start growing up to their responsibility of watching what their own government is doing and becoming active like a real adult should.

It is "Of the People, By the People and For the People" right ?

Well if it is, then these people's illnesses was caused by us since it's our country and soldiers work for us right?

Then when are people going to wake up and start making sure this country is actually run right?

When?

NOT ONE Veteran is coming back from these Wars-for-Oil, whole and unwounded, physically or mentally. NOT ONE. And now we are starting to see WOMEN Veterans on the streets, jobless and homeless and probably mentally wounded, as well as the men Veterans we have been seeing on the streets, begging, ever since the Viet Nam War.
Do you just shut your eyes to that FACT? "They're lazy, shiftless, they could get help and a job if they REALLY wanted to?" Is that what you say when asked for "any change for food?"
When I grew up in the '40's and '50's in America, we didn't have homeless Vets holding up cardboard signs begging in our streets and downtown areas; and I always thot that was just a Third World phenomenon, that we were too wealthy a country to have that......

They make the ultimate sacrifice by serving in a war for our Country and they keep on sacrificing even afterwards by not being helped when they and their families need it.

They serve and protect all of us, the least we can do is send prayers and this country needs to help them all when it is needed! Grrrrr.,
Tks Dee
