Albany Recognizes World AIDS Day

ALBANY, N.Y. -- A quilt is on display to help raise awareness for the AIDS epidemic around the world. Albany is hosting a three-day observation at the Empire State Plaza starting Tuesday, which is World AIDS Day.

More than 35 area schools are expected to visit the quilt and learn about HIV/AIDS prevention.

More than 1,200 names will appear as the quilt is unfolded Tuesday night.

A reading of the names begins at 5 p.m. and is open to the public.
