The intriguing remark was made by Lord Martin Rees, a leading cosmologist and astrophysicist who is the president of Britain's Royal Society and astronomer to the Queen of England. Rees,

So after Martin tells the scientists they lack imagination, they propose A, B and C as the only possible scenarios. You gotta love our poor little unimaginative scientists!

"Frank Drake, the founder of SETI and Drake's Equation, told the conference that satellite TV and the “digital revolution” was making humanity invisible to aliens by cutting the transmission of TV and radio signals into space. The earth is currently surrounded by a 50 light year-wide “shell” of radiation from analogue TV, radio and radar transmissions. According to Drake, digital TV signals would look like white noise to a race of observing aliens.

Although the signals have spread far enough to reach many nearby star systems, they are rapidly vanishing in the wake of digital technology, said Drake."

Okay, he says We're making ourselves Invisible right now, since digital technology is taking over & our previous signals will eventually fade away altogether.. so I suspect That same thing has happened to the civilizations that may be out there...
Our rapid rise in technology (from the early 1900's to now - approx 110 years, is cosmically a nano-second) so to "catch" a civilization in that transition state of technological "loudness" seems fairly remote... and if That is ALL WE Recognize as the presence of civilization, then we may never make contact or recognize contact.
