A four-year-old has killed herself using her grandmother's gun, the latest in a string of shootings that involve young children. Are these incidents on the rise?

How on earth was she allowed to find the gun, it should have been impossible to get to. Poor child and family.

"Of the 18,330 incidents recorded by Gun Violence Archive SO FAR THIS YEAR,
202 children under the age of 11 were injured or killed." !!!!

These will continue to happen as long as they do not prosecute the people who leave the guns available to children. No more 'They parents have suffered enough from the loss of their child!" This is unacceptable. It could have been just as easily another persons child. No, if people think they will go to jail for leaving their guns around it will go further to protecting children than leaving it to their own natural protection instincts as clearly many people just don't have it in them.

I don't know if shootings are on the rise, or if they are just reported more. I grew up in a rural area where everyone had guns in their home. We were taught to shoot as children. We also were taught gun safety. It is illegal here to not keep your guns locked up with children in a home. Sadly, not all people follow the law.
