You know what I find sad as a Christian, that so much of what is being said by other people who profess that faith I can't find a lick of support for in the Bible. Our belief system was NEVER designed to be imposed on anyone -- and anyone trying to do so becomes almost as repugnant as a Muslim who threatens to chop of my head if I refuse to convert. I have a notion Jesus and the apostles are crying a lot right now.

Oh for the love of God! I know some wonderful Christians and some wonderful atheists. And I know some rotten ones too.
I do not like Christians who do not follow the teachings of Christ.
Thank you Freya

Huckabee clearly doesn't understand the First Amendment cuts both ways. Yes, you can practice whatever religion your heart desires, but it also protects your right NOT to do so.

Ironically, while spitting on the First Amendment, he exercises part of it. In America, the First Amendment protects your right to say anything, no matter how stupid. This is a right that Mr. Conservative, exercises quite liberally.

Here we go again...the problem with the government is that there simply isn't enough Atheists but rather religious buffoons.

It's more important than ever to vote and to get every Democrat that you know to vote. That is the only way to defeat these repugnant morons. They are not Christians. I don't know what they are.

I always hated the pledge in school. I'm an immigrant who came over in 1954.Hated the pledge. It felt stilted. I can only imagine it with the hand salute palms up added. My mother would have made me cease and desist.

Noted. Thanks, Freya. Yes, Huckabee is a twisted Christian. And, he loves the limelight. I will be happy when politicians who spout bible passages and hatred are publicly shamed by real Christians.

If we allow this sort of thing next thing will be a resuming of the old war between protestants and Catholics and nobody wants that.

Huckabee has already been rejected by the voters in 2008 as a presidential candidate.
Huckabee is not a viable candidate for 2016.
If Huckabee and the extreme christian hate of the religious Christian extremism Values Voter Summit
want to throw their money away on him, let them. lol.

ty, Freya.

That S.O.B. What Gandhi said is truer than ever: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ." Add me to the list including Kamia and others who are not happy that they are giving us a bad name. Hey Huckabee - the Bible also says "Thou Shalt Not Steal" - stop stealing the word "Christian."

well, as long as he keeps on saying stupid things, just maybe the Repubs will take him seriously and put him on the ballot. With him in the running, maybe everyone who DIDN"T bother to vote, will now show up and vote against him and his party of idiots.
the fact that they didn't yank him off the podium means he has someone beside his mother who is listening to him spew out stupid comments.
can we give him his own little island somewhere off the Bermuda triangle to be king of the coconuts?

Huckabee is a fool and this latest bit stupidity by him a really a bridge to far! The founding fathers of America were NOT Christians by and large they were universal Unitarians! What part of SEPARATION OF STATE AND CHURCH does this buffoon not understand? As an agnostic to feel the threat of losing my job over my lack of being a "Christian" is scary to say the least! Perhaps huckabee needs to join the jihadist, certainly his thinking? Is right up their agenda! But do so hope he tries to run for president in 2016 huckabee will provide great fodder to comedians and lots of laughs to most Americans! Am neither pro or anti any religion until you try and shove it down my throat. Keep your religion where it belongs, your church your home and most importantly by your actions. Never ever bring your religion to my job, workplace or force it on me.

Us Brits really don't get the importance placed on believing in god + how much it impact it has on so many things. How can whether you believe or not influence how good you are at your job? It also seems to be the most pious who end up breaking 1 or more of the commandments. Usually adultery. Strange how many are extremely wealthy and trying to make more yet we all know what the bible thinks of rich men - camels and eyes of needles come to mind. Church and state should NOT be intertwined and the kind of person you are is shown by your deeds NOT whether you believe or not. Ridiculous. Proud to be an atheist and over here no-one cares or judges me for it. Actions speak louder than words or beliefs!

Having seen the so called arguments for God that has been presented depend on a thing called faith, when I see quite a lot of people who claim that he speaks to them I would not trust them as far as I could inconspiciously spit a rat. Firing a person for their beliefs or lack of them is pretty hypocritical given the United States was not based on religious terms and frankly theocracies tend to be the worst type of government. If he did try he would find himself up to his eyeballs with littigation, but then who would want to work with such a toss monger as him?

Just another big mouth member of the American Taliban. This man is very dangerous. Who selected him as the Chief of Religious Police? He is one of the biggees in the Dominionist category. Now I know why the NRA wants a gun in every pocket: to protect wingnuts like Huckabee. He is a legend in his own mind.

Jason, not only does Huckabee not understand the Constitution, but he does not understand the teachings of Jesus Christ upon which he says his faith is based.

Huckabee is a right wing evangelical Republican supply-side pseudo Christian which bears absolutely no resemblance to authentic Christianity, He is dangerous beyond belief.

Maybe that is why he was not relected governor...HE IS AN ASSSSS......CATHOLICS ARE KILLERS IN GOVT..I WOULD VENTURE TO SAY THAT THE CONGRESS, SENATE AND PRESIDENT NEED TO BE REMINDED THAT THE CIVIL RIGHTS STATUTES SAY THAT A PERSON CANNOT BE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BECAUSE OF THEIR RELIGION. AND, I SAY WE NEED TO STRENGTHEN THE LINE BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE. AND, IF PRESIDENTS CANNOT MAKE UP THEIR MINDS WHETHER SOMETHING IS RIGHT OR WRONG DO NOT CALL SOME PATHETIC ASS KISSING CLERGY PERSON. WE PEOPLE WHO ARE NO ONE MAKE ETHICAL AND SPIRITUAL DECISIONS EVERY DAY TO DO RIGHT WHILE WRONG AND EVIL IS SPOUTING THEIR BIG ASSHOLE MOUTHS ALL DAY EVERY DAY ABOUT WE THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE STACKS OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS STATUTES IN OUR POSSESSION. HUCKABEE IS ANOTHER MEDIA FOX CREEP AND BIGOT. HE WOULD KILL AN OLD WOMAN FOR ANYONE.

William Moorman could you please refrain from your racist and bigoted comments and try to stay on topic. By the way I am a survivor of a BURST CEREBRAL ANEURYSM lived with it for 3 days and trust me god never entered my thoughts, not thru my surgery nor my one month hospital stay. What I was thrilled about was the great surgeons and the modern medicine that saved me. You want your god, great for you but do not like huckabee try to impose your religous beliefs on others who are not interested or want religion in their lives!

Huckabee has never hesitated to make himself look ridiculous by suggesting that parts of the Constitution, in this case the first amendment, should in effect be thrown out.

Moorman his OPINION is one thing, however you do not seem to understand I respect hucksbees opinion but when you try to FORCE A RELIGIOUS agenda unto the work place not only does that cross the line it is AGAINST the constitution, you know that part about SEPARATION OF STATE AND CHURCH! To impose a belief that if you are an atheist you would lose your job goes way beyond personal religious belief. It is no different than a persons belief that if you are not an atheist you would lose your job. Either position is against the constitution, regardless of party affiliation it is clear cut by the constitution separation of church and state! Huckabee can opine all he wants but what he CANNOT DO is try to implement those opinion on the American people. Huckabees way of thinking is no different than Muslim controlled countries and the last I checked we here in the USA are still a democracy that allows the pursuit of PERSONAL beliefs, not those forced upon us by a Christian agenda!

William either you are bored and just trolling or are posting some of the many reasons, why I am damn proud not to belong to the current Republican Party. Hear that sound? That's Lincoln rolling in his grave.

Huckabee can say whatever he likes. If he got his way, it'd be against that whole First Amendment thing. But hey, he's only considering running for president, right? Why would we care if a presidential hopeful doesn't understand the ENTIRE First Amendment?! I"m actually glad that he is so proudly exposing his worldview. No thanks, I think I'll go with another one.

Does he understand the separation of church and state? Or has he been reduced to just another right winger who is trying to fire up his base. Either way it clearly shows he is not fit to sit in the Oval Office.
