Even though hunting is outlawed within the national parks of Zimbabwe, ten men were illegally hunting for elephants last month within the park's boundaries when they stumbled upon twenty adult Southwest African lions.

You beat me to the story, Freya., and for that I'm extremely delighted!

But this is what my headline was going to be:

It Was Bound To Happen Whether In Zimbabwe Or In Dallas…

…except the slain Dallas police officers may not have been the bad ones!

Why can’t humans get along like animals?

Lions 5, Poachers 0. GO LIONS!

I'm not in any way advocating for human casualties, but honestly, as a society we'd be better off if this happened more often.

Noted - I didn't see your post Freya, so I have posted a similar story
"Wild animals may not have had the same technological advancements as humans but they do have one thing that can never be taken from them – an instinct to survive."

Great story, thanks Freya! The lions hould have fed on the poachers right there!
Sam's analogy is obvious: Don't hurt our black family!

Thank you for this uplifting story, Freya! Yes - I confess - I'm glad that for once the lions got these scumbags.

I equally read with pleasure yesterday and today that the bulls in Pamplona (Spain) got a few of these idiots who think it proves how "manly" they are in running with the bulls - and later applaud a "courageous" matador for killing these poor bulls ... after the bulls have been maimed by the picadores and don't stand a tiny chance. I so wish this awful practice would stop.

Sam - you're right - but I would extend it and say: why can't we get along WITH animals?

Kamma literally means action, something we do or perform.
Kamma is created through body, speech & mind.
The word kamma is often used not only in reference to an intentional action but also, WRONGLY, to indicate the RESULT.
This kind of confusion is common even among the educated, not to mention the untrained.
Kamma means an action, never its result.

The law of kamma has nothing to do with the idea of moral justice.
The theory of moral justice is grounded on the assumption of a supreme being or a so-called creator god, serving as a pretext for righteous bigotry & political opportunism
The law of kamma is a natural law. It is a law of cause & effect, of action & reaction.

It operates on its own, requiring no assumption of a god & has nothing to do with the idea of reward or punishment.

Wrote in another thread about this event of senseless poaching gone very wrong and the lions won this battle. Except to say this "Any man's death diminishes me, Because I am involved in mankind, And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee." John Donne.
I just hope the word gets out and the next group of poachers think twice then long and hard. I hope there is no retribution on these lions because they were just defending what is theirs their territory.

I agree with you, dear Eleonora. I'm also glad for the lions.

“The men were visibly traumatized by the attack,” said Commissioner-General Chihuri,“and after seeing their injuries and the remains of their dead comrades, I can see why. These guys were tough criminals carrying ak-47s, but they were literally shred to pieces and devoured by the lions. I have never seen an animal attack reach this level of violence, and I have seen a lot!” I think the violence of lions attack is proportional to the violence of criminals hunters who invaded their territory. Thanks for sharing, Freya.

This is a fake news story. Shame on OneGreenPlanet for publishing it without doing any research into it's authenticity. Thank goodness for Snopes for finding out the truth.

I only found out after I posted the link in many of my groups! It's going around the internet like wildfire though. Guess we all wanted it to be true.
