The President proposed double digit cuts to some of the Developmental Disabilities Act programs within ACL. While Protection and Advocacy Systems are level-funded at $39 million, Developmental Disabilities Councils are cut by $17 million for a total of $56 million; University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) are cut (for the first time in decades) by $6 million to $33 million; and Projects of National Significance (PNS) which funds important longitudinal data and family support projects, are cut by a whopping $9 million to $1 million (a 90% cut).
