It's well known that a large meteorite hitting the Earth would not be good news, as it would cause earthquakes, tsunamis and firestorms. However, scientists have created a new model for predicting the impact of such collisions that shows the devastation

The End of the world might not be that bad! I love that headline. Reminds me of the REM song. Really if it's the end of the world why not feel okay about it? Life goes on outside of our planet. We had our chance, it's over, all is well. NEXT!

To be so lucky to die instantly from an asteroid impact would have been a blessing for our species. Of course, survivors would have faced starvation from worldwide crop failures, but that point is moot. Climate change has progressed much further than any of us are really being told. We have passed a few tipping points and the rate of deterioration of this planet is increasing much faster than most of us and our governments can respond. Climate change means disease, famine, and war over resources. These are the things that will kill us all.
