It's unfortunate that they did not see this coming and move toward making something other than guns.

Wasn't it you that posted an article a month ago about this being probable? Because while under Obama people were buying guns because they were afraid of a gun control law actually getting through and banning guns, under DT there was no such pressure to "buy while they still could" so gun sales had slumped? (Maybe it was Sheryl G. who posted it?)

I wonder whether the March for Our Lives, and the powerful calls from the youth of the US will retrigger frantic gun-buying ...

But it looks as though Remington has slipped too far.

Unfortunately, Remington only produces a few of the US-made assault weapons - their disappearance only makes more room for a few more US assault weapon manufacturers ... and a whole mass of former USSR country manufacturers + UK, China, India, Singapore, Finland, South Africa ..... & others.

I agree Sue that (for their workers' sake) it is a pity they didn't diversify away from arms ... but if they had, they could equally swing back to arms when (if) the market changes.
