Owners concerned about their petâEUR(TM)s vision should speak to their vet, as some diseases such as glaucoma are also painful, so need to be treated as soon as possible. Some eye conditions are a sign of other diseases, like cataracts and diabetes

My 14 year old Chihuahua (my avatar) has cataracts, i have to be more careful with him when we are at the park because he can wander off & i've watched him unable to find his way back.
There's surgery available at a cost of thousands but at his age it's extremely dangerous & i was advised that many older dogs have died on the operating table.

As he gets older, our vet says he will live to 19 or 20 years, i will be his eyes!

My Zoe kitty was blind for a few years before she passed. As long as I didn't move the furniture she was just fine.

Pets adapt faster than one thinks; some more than others of course. I've never had a blind pet but I have friends having them and it is amazing how they adapt; of course you have to have extra care. Thanks for posting!
