Skyscrapers crumble to the ground, fiery meteorites smash into Earth and a Tibetan monk cowers as a massive tidal wave swamps his mountain retreat. It is a vision of the coming apocalypse thrillingly captured in the latest Hollywood blockbuster.

Why would NASA bomb the moon? To stop an invasion of reptilian aliens? Come on! Everyone knows they already control the Illuminate which controls the US (and all the rest of the world's) government which controls NASA. Why would the bomb themselves?

Seriously, 2012 will come and go with no more tragedy or excitement than Y2K and a few comets. Some fringe cult types may off themselves, but that will be it.

The Mayan calender ends where it ends because thats where the Mayans stopped with it. Why did they stop? Maybe they had more important things come up, set it aside, and never got back to it.

Movies create such a false deception of true reality... the world will not end then.. just read the bible and you still won't get the true date as it is written no one knows the hour or the date.. but we will know the season that it is in... so keep on guessing

If people really thought the planet would be destroyed in about three years, they'd be spending their life savings and not caring about health care or the economy. After all, if you really believed in 2012, why would you bother with Obama care - we're all going to be dead anyways.

Explain that to me.

You know, Daniel, you make a good point. If the world ends in 2012, it will probably make the Republicans very happy because it will guarantee that Obama doesn't get a second term.

Lone Star Rick, I did look that site over. First question is, "Who is Aquarian Derek and what makes him an authority?" Just because someone puts information on a website does not make that person an expert or even close to knowledgeable. It only means he can afford the site and can either maintain it himself or afford to pay someone to.

Two glaring errors I easily and quickly found are about halfway down the page where he talks about the solar flares when the sun reverses its polarity. There are two graphics of the sun depicting this. Under the first sun he speaks of the sun being "a constant nuclear explosion which splits atoms..." No, the sun does not operate as a fission reactor. It is a fusion reactor where atoms are fused together into heavier ones, not split. He also mentions, in the first sun graphic, that electrons are positively charged and protons are negatively charged. This is backwards and he does get it right in the caption for the second sun graphic.

Dude, your source is bogus.

From what I have understood from my research into the Mayan calender is that it has nothing to do with the end of the world. It is actually a creation calender and ends October 28th 2011, not December 21 2012. 2012 is a hollywood theme and they have made a lot of money. But the calendar consists of 9 levels divided into 13 sections(7 days and 6 nights). The first cycle starts 16.4 billion years ago an is divided into 13 parts being 1.26 billion years. The second cycle started 820 million years ago and is divided into 13 again(63.4 million years). and it keeps going and we end up where we are today in the 8th cycle. The 8th cycle is only 12.8 years and started in 99 it's 13 divisions are 360 days. November 8th will be the start of the 6th night. This all leads to there being two years until creation has reached it's top speed. In the next cycle(9th) we can expect to see as much change as we have in the last 12 year in the year of 2011.
