China is fracking to feed the economy and deal with pollution. Not surprisingly, the Chinese are running into the same problems as everywhere else, problems that threaten its very survival.

LEAVE ALL FOSSIL FUELS IN THE GROUND.
82% of Fossil Fuel Reserves must be LEFT IN THE GROUND - 82%! -
if we are to avert Climate CATASTROPHE due to Global Warming.
NO MORE drilling, coal mining, FRACKING,
and transporting, leaking and spilling and exploding,
and BURNING and spewing into the Atmosphere.
NO MORE exploration for new sources!
This should be Environmentalists' MANTRA:
LEAVE FOSSIL FUELS IN THE GROUND.
==========
Leave the OIL IN THE SOIL
Leave the Coal in the Hole
Leave the TAR SANDS IN THE LAND.
Eliminate ALL use and extraction of Dirty Fossil Fuels for Energy, NOW! ASAP

Corporate Capitalism NEEDS TO CONSTANTLY GROW, that is its VERY NATURE.
[Yeah, China IS DEFINITELY part of the worldwide Corporate Capitalist System, "Communist" ONLY IN NAME.]
Corporate Capitalism IS CONSTANTLY LOOKING FOR NEW SOURCES OF REVENUE, OF DIRTY PROFIT$$$.
Corporate Capitalism WILL NOT REST until it has EXTRACTED from EVERY LAST SQUARE INCH OF THE EARTH, any Resources that remain Extractable.
That is why we have to CONSTANTLY PETITION. Because Corporate Capitalism NEVER RESTS, NEVER STOPS EXPANSION into every nook and cranny and into so-far-Virgin Territory.
We are dealing with PSYCHOPATHS who have ONLY ONE THING IN MIND. And that is EXPLOITATION FOR THEIR OWN SOLE GAIN. At ANY AND ALL COSTS to the rest of the World.
We can't just "keep it from doing TOO MUCH damage". That WON'T WORK in the long run.
We will have to CUT OFF CORPORATE CAPITALISM AT THE SOURCE....

Earthquakes and poisoned water are only the tip of the iceberg of fracking. It's a good sign here that people involved with fracking are starting, under pressure, to admit the earthquakes (because they start higher up than natural earthquakes, a fracking earthquake of 4.0 can cause as mush damage as a natural earthquake of 5.0 - and remember that scal is logarithmic - so, not a quarter nore, but ten times as much). Also that people long involved with fracking are beginning to come forward and admit the claims of safe water were lies. I just said this but will say it again - if they would invest a tenth as much brainpower and money in clean energy solutions as they do in hanging on to the dirt, everyone would be much better off much faster.

I read yesterday that Canada's supreme court had ruled that the negotiations with First Nations were requisite prior to commensing work on such proposed projects. I hope the people in the US learn to take health as seriously as some of those in China are doing.

There's a lot more problems with fracking than have been brought to light so far! It really doesn't yield that much oil either! In reality it is a scam to benefit those that own the rights to the technology and materials (AKA Haliburton and it's subsidaries) A long time ago I was involved in building some of the high pressure pumps that are used in the process! Many trhanks for posting, Lynn!

You're absolutely right JL. The Supreme Court of Canada ruled awhile back that negotiations must be held with First Nations before any pipeline can cross their lands or wells sunk. Some are open to it, most are not, and each nation affected must be represented.

Thanks all!

Fracking is only good for frack-companies -and even that one's not for sure....- but definitively bad for the rest of us, for the climate, for air, water and nature.

Fracking should be stopped and banned worldwide, as it is a dangerous and highly polluting.

Fracking is not the solution to stop using oil and coal, it's just changing one polluting fossile energy for another.

Thanks for posting Lynn
