I am infuriated by the situation we are facing. I hope you all are too.
Instead of sitting here complaining, I am hoping to rally everyone to do their part to save this democracy before they take all our rights away and make healthcare affordable only for themselves. We can do this, if we unite and move as one to demand that this government serve us, the American people, who voted them in-----we can do this!!!! No one is exempt unless you are willing to hand everything over to those who don't give anything back to you.

Our action has to have three components.

1) It must be peaceful;

2) It must go beyond partisan politics and factionalism. It has to be the American people waking up and standing together. There is no progress for any group seeking change democratically if our democratic process is just failing us. No matter how we identify our political orientation, all of us want to live in a democratic society. We must unite to save our democracy at this point in our history;

3) Going forward, we must take our resolve to save our democracy and organize at the district-level to have sustained impact. Democracy is not a one-time event; it is a lifetime commitment. We are calling on you to commit to this!

I am praying that all Americans will take part in this if they are in a capable position to do so, as this is critical for all USA citizens. It is NOW or Never.
Thanks Camila. I will forward to all my friend.

COUNT ME IN.

My fouth grade teacher would be proud, I believe this is what she meant when she spoke of "good citizenship", (sadly, no longer a part of the curriculum) making a posititve contribution to the society in which we live.

Thanks Camila, you knew I would sign on + paid my dues.
We still need to coordinate a Citizens General Strike to rattle the doors of DC and Wall St.. With 16M members of C2 you would think it would be a snap to organize. Not everyone can get to DC for a rally, but everyone can walk outside their front door or from their work place and stand in the street, united. All it takes is the courage to stand up to be counted as a caring citizen, not just another mindless consumer. They canít arrest or beat us all, which they will desperately want to do because fear of corporal punishment and reprisal for not following their script is the main bag of tricks to keep us under the boot. They pay enormous amounts of money to keep the media selling fear 27/7. Fear of terrorist, fear of any and all other races or religions, fear of crime, fear, fear, fear. Itís time to come out from under the bed to meet our neighbors face to face, because we are all sensitive people who want to be able to live with freedom and dignity free from the lies and intimidation the corporatist use to keep us in line.
Is anyone else having issues trying to post a comment lately? Itís taking several attempts to get mine to stick.

Thank-you. I have received invitations to several protests intending to be a very BIG one--my only concern is scattering people so that none of the planned events will gather the desired number at one place. Most cannot attend so many even though they want to.

Think and act locally. Get together with other people.. Pick a goal, achieve it, then pick another one.. There is SO MUCH potential locally, but very little nationally, due to corporate takeover of both parties. The way through is to vote Green Party, since they take ZERO corporate 'donations'.

I like coffee. I will be glad to be on the ground floor of this party. I will be a coffee ground, watch me get hot and come to a boil and then stand back and watch the release of energy, we'll get something done alright.

What happens after the energy release? that which is usless gets pooped out. Watch out Washington, you're gonna get a little coffee break courtesy of your constituents. Would they like a little cream and sugar too? I say no cream or sugar, straight and black.

UPDATE August 12, 2011: We are still working on getting a permit for the march. While we can't tell you the exact date and location yet, we can tell you that the march is definitely on and it will be in October. We will announce the date to you as soon as we have the permit in our hand.

They should be joining up with this massive gathering that is going to be in Washington. Please go to:
HUMAN NEED NOT CORPORATE GREED STOP THE MACHINE

Just a suggestion. Thank you for posting this and hope the people are finally awake. This will not get better until the people rise up. This IS class warfare, make no mistake about that.

PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER

Now lets hope this comment doesn't get wiped out. Every time I am trying to bring the information to the people it is being wiped off the treads. I've complained, I'm getting suspicious. So if this goes missing tell me please.

They shut down cell phone service in usa too, recently, when there was going to be a gathering. These are the steps of a Fascist Government.

- The Care2 Team

Thank you all for being amazing, and for getting on board with this thing. Remember that its always a small group of concerned and informed citizens who implement the big changes. Don't ever think you are too small, just little you----NOOOOOOO-----you are each and every one, HUGE, and your voices are powerful beyond measure singly, but as a group, we can turn this tsunami they sent our way back on them! We will watch as they go back to oblivion, leaving only the effluvium as evidence, which will be washed away in short time once we have our country back!
Its not Democrat or Republican, its US! Its people for people!!! Everyone has good ideas, and we need to release egoic holds of ideologies that obstruct and then bring everything crashing down on our own heads. We are all citizens of this same, amazing country founded on the most revolutionary ideas: of freedom for all, freedom to worship as each pleases, and with rights that we have responsibility to maintain and some to take back again. We can work out the details together.

Thanks, I'm just putting the word out there as someone else had a comment gone missing as she mentioned a personal involvement concerning the Reconstructionalist and what is behind them and their ideas are what is pushing the agendas behind the Tea Party and the likes of Michele Bachmann. That too went missing, they are a force to understand and here someone had some personal knowledge.

I'll keep watching.....in hopes it is merely a glitch, but I've reported these "glitches" to C2.

John Gregoire, that's exactly correct, and how we must go forward. Until we begin to understand that we all are like the facets of a diamond, together shining gloriously, we keep slinging mud upon our own selves by fighting amongst ourselves. With that said, however, there has been an insidious plot against the People of this country, and this world, by a handful of behind-the-scenes manipulators that have been benefiting at our expense, and unsatisfied, keep taking more and more. We are too aware at this point to allow this any further.

Wake up "Republicans" and realize that the Tbaggers and the GOP is not a party that supports your freedom. Your rage has been manipulated and misdirected. The Democratic party is not innocent either, but at the moment they are in the minority. Its not about polarities, of Left or Right. its about humanity. Please support President Obama, who has worked exhaustively toward trying to unify the country, only to face these roadblocks made of stubborn ideologies that serve no one. Please choose humanity, and all that goes with living and allowing life to go on----we are at the crossroads of a great shift and its up to us how this will go. Please heed this.

Thanks Camila for a GREAT POST about a GREAT IDEA AND ACTION . Also great "Dollar Campaign" pics, what a cool idea!
They allow global signatures, so I signed, too, as I certainly like to be updated on the progress. I wonder what date they'll get for the march but contrary to Dandelion's suggestion, I think the better strategy would be a "series" of follow up actions rather than one concerted big one.
Hope the training calls they're having at this moment will also be a success.

As for disappearing comments, yes, I have also experienced this myself and noticed from others. I do believe that's glitches-happen especially often on weekends- and shall not get paranoid over it.
Getting too suspicious won't do much good.

"I just want Obummer out of there."

First, I becomes difficult to separate friend from foe when they use the same language. Obama, our President made that mistake when he adopted words, of his enemies the Rebaggers, regarding the economy and therefor let them take control of the conversation. Lets not make the same mistake.

"It seems to me he continues to betray the American people."

As much as I find him maddening in ways to many to note here, I will not loose sight of the FACT that he is dealing with adversaries without scruples, willful and insane, and this has been shown repeatedly and in spades. He is not king, and could not overrule the other branches of Gov.

WE must help ourselves and rid ourselves of the Baggers. Many sulked in 2010 and we got the baggers. If we do the same this time, we will reap more of the same. Tie his hands some more if you like but don't cry here, when the Nation doesn't vote Green of of the sudden, and we end up with another Fricken Texan. They have the money, the media and millions of voted for Reagan and Bush twice....Think it can't happen. Give me a break. Give Obama the congress and a Filibuster proof Senate and see what happens. Its IMHO...our best shot. I'm not about Party, but I am about right and left and if we let them drag us any more right, we will live in Bircherland/ and the American we have known will be gone as sure as Father knows best will be remade in color and be required watching.

Kamila A (141)
Sunday August 14, 2011, 7:14 pm
That's exactly right, Robert. People may be mad, but this is not the time to scatter the vote all over the place. You might dislike Pres. Obama for not being tougher, but he is fair, and unfortunately, in this climate of hate and mud flinging everyone thinks that that kind of behavior is going to get results. It will only make the crazies even more crazy, for no results except for them to have more ammunition. It a no win situation to support anyone else but Pres Obama, and get the House and Senate out of the hands of the obstructionists. One thing about the hateful bunch is that they always rally together and have a united goal of taking the president down, and then the game is over for everyone. It is up to the people right now to either allow this, or do something to change it. Don't be foolish.

I will be marching on with all of you in my heart. I just know that I have had enough as well and so have the American people. The news stated last night that 1 in 25 homes are in forclosure United States wide but as they went state by state the numbers dropped to as many as 1 in14 homes were in forclosure. I'm not allowed to vote (by law) and so much of all of this is way, way, way over my head or my ability to comprehend....but kudoes to all of you who have the strength, courage and understanding to present this forward to our government. I stand with you in my spirit and you are all heroes. YOU ROCK! ! !

you are right enough is enough, sick of the rich getting richier, the freddie the free loaders getting everything for nothing and nevrer paying into the system and we, the old working class just get told lots of B.S. and we get to pay for everything!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!

Kamila A (141)
Tuesday August 16, 2011, 6:23 pm
I hear you Maria. In a government where the wealthy enjoy great lives, and keep getting wealthier as those who are single mothers who would work harder, but already carry 2 jobs and have sick children who need care.... and the person who got unfairly fired from a job he worked in for 20 years, suddenly and spins out into a deep harrowing depression....and the fires that sweep all the possessions out, the floods, the sudden deaths, the illnesses, the bad luck that befalls and suddenly all is lost for them.....the system is broken. We need to care for the vulnerable, the elderly, the sick because those people ARE US.

We, each and every one, would also love to inherit great funds and do wild and wonderful things with it. We, each and every one might also end up getting hit by mental illness, or be stuck with an addicted spouse, or make a series of bad decisions that leads us to disaster----these are also US, just unfortunate---"there but by the grace of God, go I". Punishing the already damned is not just, moral, or fair just because they fell down. Everyone deserves a chance to stand up again. Of course, just throwing money at them is not the answer either. But, there is a better way, in a government that is based on wisdom, justice and compassion. And guess who that is? THAT IS US TOO.

It is up to each of us to stand up and do something to change the world, because the world is changing right now under our noses, and its not going in the right direction. I think we all agree on that.

We need to bring back the wisdom of the grandmothers, the wise teachers, the compassionate ones, not the psycho Tbaggers who want to instill an archaic fundamentalist state where witches are burned at the stake----we can do this if we scream in unity, together, for what we really stand for, based on WHO WE REALLY ARE.

We are Americans who have always believed in freedom and justice for all, and for a country that has enough to feed its own, care for its own. We are all equal, though some are smarter, some more competent, and some are not entrepreneurs or wealthy, but they too have value---perhaps they create art or poetry---that has great value to soften the hearts that will then go out and create great beauty for the rest of us. Should the poet starve just because he can't be like Bill Gates? We are not the ones to judge who should or should not eat. All should have shelter and food. All should have opportunity. All should be free and valued. Some will be more productive than others, but all are our brethren, all the children of the same One Creator.
