Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) on Thursday objected over and over again in order to keep statements out of the congressional record that accused Republicans of hurting working families by taking food stamps out of the farm bill.

If they have the audacity and callous cruelty to do it, they should be willing to face the consequences of their actions. It's part of the package, a-hole!

What a evil SOB this so called Rep of Texas is, he looks like, Gargamel the Smurfs sworn enemy! The GOP should be listed as a Hate Group! The founding fathers would be fighting them .

So Much Shame going around, but the sad truth is that they just don't give a damn & have no conscience what so ever!! I agree that they could use some "Living With The Laws They Pass!!!" This might just take them down a few pegs & they'll see what the real world is having to endure!~ Thanks Carrie!!~

Anybody in Texas who voted for this disgrace of a human being, ought to be ashamed of themselves...

And there you have it. Official Republican position: SNAP all goes to lazy parasites, and anyone who says different is lying.

Actually, the SNAP program (hate to tell you, food stamps have been gone for a long time - I think it was demeaning), should not be part of the farm bill at all. The reason why the bill has been supported by everyone in the past is the reason we are in the mess we are today.

Have a good look at his face. It takes a lot of being cruel over a long time to develop a dial like that one!

WE ARE a better country than that, indeed. But the republican party is not. Nothing was said by the Democratic Representatives that was untrue, Gohmert is a despicable fool. Then again so are his compatriots in the rest of his party. This, too, should be in EVERY Democratic campaign in 2014 and 2016.

This is a despicable act by a despicable excuse for a human. I just love how these A**hats spew vitriol about America not having the resources for feeding poor women and children with the same mouths that they use to preach that women should be forced to have babies that they can't afford to feed.

What if worldwide there is a constant struggle between good and evil being played out but we don't always recognise evil with it's smiling face, saying we are doing this for your own good!Look into your heart and finf what is fair and generous and isn't spiteful and uncaring!

One can only hope that the conservative voters who support Gohmert have friends and relatives go just as hungry as the rest of us from his objections.

It must be decided by the people and unfortunately the republicans and the supreme court have fixed the obstructions for the people not to succeed

Gohmert must be hell-bent on proving that Texas Republicans are the biggest ay-holes on the planet. The only welfare they approve is the corporate kind, and the poor and working class be screwed.

Just goes to prove that poll I just read about saying that a majority of voters blame Republicans for the Washington gridlock. Gohmert just keeps digging a bigger hole, especially for TX GOP.

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. Food stamps have been part of the Farm bill since the very first Farm bill was passed. This Farm bill is pure pork as it stands and should never be passed just due to that. The SNAP program should be funded even more money, not less. Poverty is at an all time high here in the US. It is just absolutely cruel to want to cut SNAP. Gohmer is a sub-human without a conscience.
