The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is the audit, evaluation, and investigative arm of the United States Congress, and it is under investigation for fraudulent reporting in relation to horse welfare.

And this is surprising?? The question is what will be done about it, especially since it's another govt agency that lies? Noted with disgust. Thank you.

At least they voted to eliminate funds for inspection and the Obama administration has asked Congress to reinstate the ban. Now we must ALL write to our Senators to insist they do as the President has asked on this matter. If they don't hear from their constituents, they won't even look at the issue. Petition time!! And veterinarians need to get on board to report the abuse that happens at a slaughter plant to a horse if they are truly concerned about horses being abused as a reason for reopening horse slaughter plants.
