American consumers need USDA "on station" to inspect chicken processing as it occurs in China, and a "labeling gap" is putting U.S. food safety at risk, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) suggests in a letter to Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.

I am surprised that we take in any poultry from China. If this is the case,I am all for Brown's suggestion.

I don't like the idea of buying any food, beverages, or anything we or our pets ingest from China.

What's wrong with him? We have our own farmers who raise our food. Tell China to keep their chicken in China or sell them to someone else.

I agree with Carrie and the others we do not need anything from China.

Surprising the USDA is so concerned about Chinese poultry when they clearly don't seem to be concerned about our own food. Possibly factory farmers raising a stink about importing chicken - when theirs is perfectly good. Maybe China's poultry will be safer than America's...
