"We're asking you to boycott Girl Scout cookies in 2014," reads a new site dedicated to the boycott, explaining that Davis should not be lifted up as a "worthy role model for our children."

Me too Freya. Some Thin Mints, Peanut Butter, and those Striped Chocolate/Coconut Ones. Girl Scouts also advocated to make their cookies GMO-Free.

I ordered a couple myself and got told they even have a gluten-free option available.

I think Ms. Davis shows the values espoused by GSA more than the complainers do

Thank you, Wendy. More cookies for me! Seriously, though, is there some kind of Republican award for Wacko of the Week?

Getting political to punish the Girl Scouts? What a ridiculous thing....they are Girl Scouts selling Girl Scout cookies for crying out loud....geesh. I'll still order a whole case of thin mints, our once a year indulgence.

So, who would the repugs suggest are good role models? Palin, Bachmann, Schafley? Palin could bake some hockey puck cookies.
I may have to blow my good eating habits a bit, here.

Yet one more tactic in the "War on Women" - - -Don't they believe that having been a GS might reduce the likelihood of opting for an abortion?

Indeed Palin MIGHT be a good endorsee - but by WHOM???

I wish I could fly to Colorado buy a few joints and box of GS cookies just to get away from the war on women!

Stars to all - not a normal buyer of Girl Scout cookies but sometimes you have to step outside the norm - especially when it involves crazy blockheads....

Oh, Carrie, this must be one of the saddest news items you've come up with this week. Targeting innocent Girl Scout cookies to be able to lash out at Wendy Davies, that really takes the cake.

Well, it looks like the Girl Scouts will have a record year selling their famous cookies. By the way, did you know that selling Girl Scout cookies is the one big fund raiser the girls have to raise money for their individual troops?

Jeanne - just read a poll that says Palin leads even Christie for GOP endorsement...says alot about the intelligence of GOPTP voters.
Haven't bought Girl Scout cookies for years, but now will have to check the charge card to see how many I can get. Thanks for sharing - plan to blow my diet...just a bit.

Things are really going to the extreme these days - I will be buying a case of the thin mint,,,,and of course some peanut butter cookies. Carrie is right, this the biggest fund raiser for the Girl Scouts. (used to be a Brownie leader, which is a step down from Girl Scouts). These girls have enough good projects they are involved in, without blowing their minds on the political side of things - like the Republicans).
Thanks Carrie.

Sounds like the allies of One Million Moms, a front group of the American Family Association an SPLC listed hate group, are picking up the slack. After all I do believe that the Facebook page for OMM was deleted, not much of a loss as One Million Moms only had a grand total of 1,600 followers. And we all know that if the GS had picked some one like Maggie Gallagher, former President of NOM, or Phyllis Schlafly who opposes the ERA and Roe v. Wade, they would have bought all the cookies they could get their warty claws on. But what the hell if you can not bully children what is the point in Repugs getting up in the morning as if cutting food stamps and unemployment benefits is not going to do enough damage on top of fighting the Violence Against Women Act and Equal Pay legislation is not enough.
