House Speaker John Boehner Thursday threw cold water on the prospects of near-term immigration reform, saying President Barack Obama needed to rebuild "trust" before there is movement on the issue.

Just another excuse by the GOP to avoid acting on immigration reform. They'll NEVER trust Obama no matter what he does. As far as I can tell, they trust no one, even other Republicans.

Well if the Repug's don't act upon this before November they can kiss Hispanic votes goodbye., in 2016. They don't trust the President because he said he would use his executive powers if need be, well he wants to get this passed. Heck they don't even trust each other in that party.

The Republican party gets the "Pure Bullshit Award". Even before the 1st inauguration of Obama, they already decided to oppose EVERYTHING he would try to do. Boehner, and especially the Tea Party, have fecal matter between the ears. They are full of it.

Agent Orange can pee up a rope as far as I'm concerned. He has accomplished not one darn positive thing in the last 5 years..... way past time for retirement for him.

John Boehner has shown repeated stupidity as speaker he has made the present congress the most unproductive in American history. Due the inept dysfunction due to massive campaign of smears, fear-mongering and misinformation against every issue resulting in a gridlock on even the most simple legislation. The only other thing that would be remembered about the tangerine hued one is that he cried openly more than any other politician in memory.

I've been a republican since I cast my first vote for Reagan. I wouldn't trust Boehner or any one else in the current GOP as far as I coould throw them. Obama is far more trustworthy than any of them, which is why GHW Bush is the last republican I have voted for. Bonehead needs to rebuild his own party before he starts worrying about Obama,a fter all he is the one with the 10% approval rating, not Obama.

Obama won't uphold the law ... right ... that's why we have more deportation going on then ever because that is what the law says has to be done. I wish they all had to wear shock collars so that every time they lied it would go off ... which would pretty much be when they open their mouths.

Trust Boehner? Surely you jest!.(sorry Bill)..I would not trust him as far as I could throw him. (although I should like to try.)Just one more point. Where is the American jobs bill ? You are still sitting on it.and we are still driving over dangerous bridges and potholes..Mr Boehner YOU are PITIFUL. and so is your party.

The GOP's excuses for opposing Obama get sillier and more childish by the day. They must really be running out of steam because they have not come up with anything that anyone with a brain cell to his name has taken seriously. I've long thought the GOP/Tea Party are backstage, working out new schemes to try and topple Obama again, but now I think they're just backstage disagreeing. Keep it up, boys. Obama won't lose any sleep over you this way.

Obama needs to rebuild trust? More like Boehner and the entire Republican party need to rebuild trust. I haven't taken any of them seriously, nor trusted what they've said, since they said they would do everything they could to ruin Obama's presidency, which they have done. Wouldn't trust them to tie my shoes...

The first thing that enters my mind when I read the article headline is "who does John Bohner think he is?" That supercilious, condescending attitude just makes me want to scream. I've said before that Obama should just do what Reagan did and provide amnesty (with a path to legal immigration)....and totally bypass Congress. I don't care how loudly they scream.....just stick a bottle in their mouths, then change their diapers.

Thanks Carrie for the link to the article by Agence France-Presse. Speaker Boehner using the word trust is mind boggling and laughable. Read and noted.
