Tea Party Reaches New Low In Pettiness

- 1975 days ago -
Republicans are really starting to get comically petty in their attempts to stall and chip away at same-sex marriage. Sen.Mike Lee and Sen.Ted Cruz introduced a bill that would basically nullify your same-sex marriage in federal eyes if you moved from...

I believe Ted Cruz should take advantage of our tax payment towards his healthcare and get some mental -health treatment.

I think I'd use the word "mean" here. It's also cruel & stupid. This goes beyond "petty," or inconsiderate. Let's call it what it really is. I wish the mainstream media would start labeling it as such, too!

Repubs are more interested in restricting the civil rights of some citizens then helping Americans get jobs.

The Tea Parties exist only to 'take us back to the future' and destroy progressive gains made over recent decades. We must be so careful and do our best to bring progressive candidates into government as Germany, in the 1930's, was full of people who were extremely comfortable in feeling that such a great society as Germanic values had represented in culture, the arts, the sciences, could NEVER be led down the road to becoming a monstrosity such as we had not seen in centuries by ego maniacs and citizens who blindly followed Hitler and others who were much like the 'Tea Baggers' of today

Noted. I am no longer surprised. I actually see this a good thing. The bigotry and pandering to a small segment of population is now open. It makes it easier to see tea bags agenda. No smoke and mirrors. I don't have to wonder what they actually are doing . I welcome's much easier to fight them in the open.

Lee and Cruz are prime examples of why the tea party needs to be sent out on it's ear. After Boehner's refusal to follow their lead last week and keep paying our bills, they are back to what they do best, bring their religious beliefs into politics. These men just cannot stay out of peoples private lives whether it be abortion or gay marriage. Oh, don't forget Cruz' obsession, Obamacare. Yep, they are working hard to help people get to work, isn't that what they told the sheeple they'd do?

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reed barked at the Senate Chamber that Senator Ted Cruz was a “Schoolyard Bully”, but what you don’t know is this:

•Cruz bumped Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) in the hallway, pointed and said “what’s that on your tie?” When Udall looked down Cruz flipped up his hand, batting him in the face. As Udall arrived at the Senate cafeteria, he noticed his lunch money was gone.
•Ted Cruz regularly sits on the hood of his Camaro in the Senate parking lot, with a toothpick in his mouth, waiting for the Senate Women’s Caucus to let out.
•When Sen. John McCain asked Cruz what he was filibustering against, Cruz replied “whaddya got?”
•Suspect fitting Cruz’s description drove slowly by the White House, clinking three empty beer bottles stuck to his fingers and taunting, “Obaaaamaaa! Come out to play-ee-yay!”
•Spends all Republican caucus meetings slowly rocking his back-row chair, chewing gum and cracking wise.
•Anonymous complaint filed with the Senate Ethics Committee alleged a certain Texas senator “only refers to Hawaii Sen. Schatz by the present-tense version of his name.”
•Gave Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank a swirly. Refused to pay for replacement eyeglass lens.
•His knuckle tattoos read “SINE DIE.” (Cruz lost his left pinkie at a high-stakes Federalist Society moot court.)
•Joined Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) for an extended game of keep-away with Sen. Leahy’s lip balm. The Senate Judiciary Committee meeting had to be rescheduled.
•Every time Sen. Barbara Mikulski enters a room, Cruz slicks back hair and says, “How YOU doin’?”
•Cruz interrupted a long answer by SecDef nominee Chuck Hagel, with “speaking of drones, we gonna wrap this up soon?”

The thing about the Tea Party is they always seem to have their nuts in people's faces and frankly it is not a dignified position as they wiggle them around. They time and time again demonstrate they suck balls at any political position they try going for the most extreme, childish and insane stance. It has been five years and they have rendered governance into a sideshow with increasingly insane posturing - there is more bat poop between their ears than most bat caves even the one under stately Wayne manor after taco night or when the Joker has been putting ex-lax in the brownies again.

The Tea Party REALLY reached a new low with the election of Cruz and Lee.What is it that attracts the "Tea Party" to "Whack Jobs".and drooling followers.? Damned if I know, but more importantly. Who in HELL votes for such iidiots?. . Would Canada like to claim Cruz back to the fold. He can go for "short " money.(would fit right in with Ford.)

The TeaBaggers can Always sink lower than polite society thinks it can! Snakes can go under ground, lower than NeoCON pigs in a sty...I wish people keep saying both parties are the same would Think about the RepubliCON war on women, minorities, gay & lesbians, the elderly, the children, the poor, and people with disabilities ..I don't have enough time to write down ALL the people they hate - let's just say ANYONE & Everyone who is NOT Rich!;) There is a Difference in parties, sometimes it just seems not Enough.

Geez - VOTE THESE FOOLS OUT! They have no idea how to run a country, they are too busy destroying the country. They are racist idiots who don't have anything worthy in their heads. Every time they speak, better have the TP ready to clean them up.

Tea Party people are troublemakers. All they do is whine. Wait until somebody does something then stand back and carp about what is wrong with the decision. This is called leadership from behind.

I'm always surprised by people who want Cruz, the Tea Partyers, the climate deniers, etc., to STOP their rants.

What better source do you have to show middle-of-the-road people why they can't possibly support those so far afield?

Cruz is a GIFT!

Think strategically for once: the worse they behave the better it is.

No one and no force I know in the universe is better at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory than an American democrat ... except, perhaps, an American liberal or progressive. Nope, nothing even comes close.

Who are the two most powerful democratic weapons in America? Answer: Rush Limbaugh and Anne Coulter. Think about it.

Texas' traditional marriages and divorces vs Massachusetts' (where same sex marriage has been allowed for a decade): Mass has lowest divorce rate.
I'm sure Cruz, Lee, and the TP have our best interests at heart >cough! cough

We've had same-sex marriage here in Canada for quite a few years now - legal in all 10 provinces and 3 territories. Even our right-wing prime minister knows better than to try to rescind it - he'd be turfed from power *thisfast*.

I remember when this legislation was first enacted. It was fascinating how, as soon as gay men and lesbians could marry their same-sex partners legally, the sound of traditional marriages immediately cracking and breaking into tiny little smithereens... was absolutely silent.

Carrie, I hat to disagree with you but it not a new low. It is simply that the slime mold has evolved bioluminescence and is just more visible when it crawls out from under the rock. They are not lower it is just that they are easier to see in perspective.
