Fox News Advises Women To Ditch Feminism, Offers Tips To 'Keep Your Husband Happy'

Society & Culture  (tags: Susan Patton, marriage, women, men, wives, husbands, family, society, ethics, freedoms, media, rights, humans )

- 1775 days ago -
Susan Patton criticized today's women for "acting like such an entitled princess" and prioritizing careers ahead of their families. Men, Patton told the Fox hosts, must be appreciated and respected, perhaps with a drink at the end of a long work day.

Oh good grief, this sounds like the crap that was published in women's magazines in the fifties. This woman needs a reality check. If her ideas are so great, why is she having her own career?

I am trying very hard.....not to.....reach......for my frikken FIREARM on that one!!!!!!!!!!! Um.....hubby would know something very, very, very bad was fixin to happen if I EVER fixed him a drink at the end of his.....very BIG TIME. Thank Dawg I married an enlightened and very pro-female man. We have been and are a 50/50 marriage. We are equals.....not, nor ever will be, master and chattel. I do more for him now than ever before because he is now disabled and needs care assistance.....he NEVER commands me or TELLS me to do something---ever. I do what I do for him out of love and respect....not out of duty or servitude.

This bit*h above IS from the fifties by the looks of her and she wants to go back to the time that never was....I'd love to send her there. :)

O don't know how she does it, how Susan Patton keeps herself looking this young. She must be at least 120 years old and doesn't look a day over 80, the average age of Fox News viewers. So nice of her to take them back to the good old days of their childhood when they hear their grannies tell about the time when men were men and the women knew their place in the house (and the bedroom).

She can't have it both ways: either you're "an entitled princess" OR you're a "career girl". I've been married 40 yrs. now. My Advice is: Be Yourself & marry a Democrat!

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. Certainly she can't be reaching many viewers, since they are busy cleaning house, cooking, bowing & scraping......they can't have time to watch. I'm surprised she forgot to mention barefoot & pregnant. I live in a 50/50 relationship, too, and have no friends that believe any of this garbage.

Don't you get tired of Fox News leaning to the right like a man who has blown his right leg off, with their scary beyond all reason leaps into the dark. As if any woman would actually use their tips .... thinks welll in the case of Michele Bachmann & Sarah Palin there are rocks with more capability for rational thought than those two, so if they are trying to appeal to women with this line of thought it is a massive fail. As they say it is best to say "Keep calm and stop watching Fox News" as it is not really all that reliable when it comes to news. Still it does show how clueless they are about women these days.

Ah yes, the sage wisdom of Faux continue the propaganda that women should be seen but not heard also a clean sparkling home, slippers onto his feet after you have kissed them and thanked him for providing you with a man to love and be a vixen at night in the bedroom.

Have no opinions, don't vote, certainly don't want to be in charge of anything after all he'll have your best interests in mind, and take care of those children that will be full time job as you won't be able to get any contraceptives to prevent it.

Seriously? Not all women want a relationship full stop and some women prefer women therefore "keep your husband happy" is not applicable and a bit too hetero-normative. 'Prioritizing careers instead of families', really? Family doesn't equal automatically no career. And some women never want a family, I know I don't and I would rather focus on a career doing something I love rather than conforming to what some person thinks I should do. 'Men should be appreciated and respected' - Not all men are worth appreciating just as there are some that are, and women should also be appreciated if they're a nice person. There are so many things wrong with this! Sorry for the long post, things like this tend to really annoy me.

Just accept your lower than low, place in society. Consider your station in life similar to that of many women in Muslim countries.
Be happy if a man even speaks to you, and kiss he feet if he asks you out.
We can't forget wives ~ Don't forget to scratch his back every night, give him a hand and foot massage and always, always, cook his favorite dishes every night for diner.
(I have a feeling I know where you would like to put the hand and foot massage.)

I almost forgot ~~~~~~~If he hits you and/or calls you dirty names, ask him what you did wrong, so that you can avoid the same mistake in the future.
Don't forget to thank him for giving you that fatherly punishment that you so aptly deserve.

Surely, I forgot something that we, as women should do for men on a daily basis.
Feel free to embelish on my comment.

Sooo over this whole thing.

We can't play the game anymore. I don't care how well some women do for themselves playing it, it's still THEIR game. Don't kid yourself. The time has come for us to CHANGE the game. Make it a game of equality.

Women can't keep the heels on and serve June Cleaver cookies all the time like good little wifeys, or work the pole/troll the clubs/bars just "'cause it's good money" or because "it's the way to have power over them", or allow themselves to be exploited/dehumanized in any way anymore, folks. That may have been OK at one time, it actually may have allowed some of us to survive when we wouldn't have otherwise, but the time for change is now.

We can't just "do well" at their game anymore, too much is at stake for future generations and we can't miss our window. You can feel it changing if you pay attention. We need to seize the moment and stop allowing this BS. Reject this reality and replace it with our own. One where women aren't second class citizens, only worthy because of their looks or mating capabilities. One where rape is no longer dismissed as a lesser crime. Where women control their own bodies and lives. The time is frick-frackin' NOW!

Remember American women, THIS is what you are fighting when you go to the ballot box. So hopefully one day your daughters/granddaughters and your sons/grandsons don't have to be exposed to this stupidity.

The only way they will realize their views are prehistoric, is to keep losing, REPEATEDLY, at the ballot box, as their audience slowly dindles, because their elderly viewers are NOT immortal.

No offense intended to sane elderly or even semi sane.

Love Ashley's idea. Don't every marry a man who watches Fox News. Feminism helps everyone, not just women. There are a Lot of very foolish people on Fox News. Why people waste there time listening to them is beyond me.

I almost stopped reading, disgusted, when I got to this line: "the so-called “Princeton Mom” who attracted considerable attention in 2013 after penning a letter to her alma mater encouraging young women spend 75 percent of their college career focused on finding a husband"

But I persevered for some odd reason. Then got to this insult: "If you are in your mid-30s or older the idea that you’re going to find yourself another husband, almost impossible,” Patton predicted. “And if you don’t believe me ask your maiden aunt, she will tell you when she’s done feeding the cats.”

OK...wanting to smack her hard by now. THEN THIS: "rape that occurs between acquaintances — commonly referred to as “date rape” — should be called “mistake sex” to avoid diminishing “the true horror of rape.”

This woman is berserk, and believe me, as a Psychiatric Nurse, I know berserk when I see it. She's plain whacked, and it's sad that anyone is paying any attention to her.

Unfortunately, the video is not there for me . . . just a big black hole. However, I am assuming that the picture at the top of the article of a woman right out of the 50s is Patton. My eyes were rolling so much that I damn near missed the comment "If you are in your mid-30s or older the idea that you’re going to find yourself another husband, almost impossible,” Patton predicted. “And if you don’t believe me ask your maiden aunt, she will tell you when she’s done feeding the cats.” Well I am that maiden aunt and I love my furbabes . . . no sass, no massages nightly, no drink to fix nor meal to make unless I want to. Oh, and I get a whole chorus of purring all to myself

Oh, and if a woman's career should be "her man", what are all those bimbos at Faux Noise doing? You know, Laura Ingraham, Megyn Kelly etc. I guess it is OK for the Faux Girls to have a career because they are supporting the Right Reich Ministry of Propaganda for the Republicanus/Teabaggers.

Thanks for the laughs Carrie.

Reading parts of the article made me think back to growing up. My dad was a tyrant. Breakfast before work, dinner on the table at minute late and the dish may hit a wall. All this while mom was holding down a teaching career of her own and raising 4 kids spread out in age. Not to mention laundry, all his ironing, and never knowing what would set off his temper... And yet with as bad as it was.... she still watches fox news!!! LOL Gotta find humor in something.
